    Wanted to try the game today. Can't import my save. Off to a terrible start. I tried all the fixes in this thread to no avail.

    Completely agree. It detracts from the immersion rather than adds to it, since there is no point to the NPCs save for their short stories. Wish they could be diabled somehow.
