I don't read everything bit I guess the main. Personnaly, I enjoyed BG2 specialisation to get your very own favourite kind of weapon. BUT for PoE, I would like to try as they actually make (=a general bonus linked to kind of weapon) + one bonus linked on which weapon you usually use. I mean, in BG you could see which weapon were the more used. It should make sense to add a bonus to your familiar weapon. It would be a nice compromise between what you choose in your leveling and what is your familiar weapon most used in game. And sorry for my English.
