  1. When I read the AICN article as I read it all interest in X-men 3 slowly faded away to nothing. I've been a fan of x-men since early 90's. Can't believe what they are doing. I wasn't that happy from Singer's X-men(poor development of the X-men as a team, to focus heavy on Wolverine, b grade 50's scifi plots) but by comparison to X-men 3 his films were endlessly true to the comics. Getting Jean to evaporate Scott...madness. It's not like Scott's really had any quality time in the series upto now, but I think its clear this isn't stemming from Singer, seems a general disinterest in Scott(or rather, interest only in Wolverine). Not just Fox itself, probably some of the producers guilty of this. The two good Scott scenes were annexed from the scripts and weren't filmed. The one from X-men 2 was particularly good(he was to discover Angel inside Stryker's base). Oh well, have to wait another decade or two for another movie series to be launched. Hopefully Tom Rothman is dead and/or Marvel deals with a different studio to make it.
  2. Well I thought the idea was that they can't have anyone or thing they care about with them on the journey against the True Sith. Hence Revan sending the Ebon Hawk back to get Exile, only. I don't think Droids are so limited from joining them out there, because he had T3 with him. So HK47 would be fine to balance out the party(perhaps T3 as well). And as for it being a superparty, gotta keep in mind the enemy(some of) you'd face would be very epic. Huge resistance to damage, and massive health, perhaps even having specific ways of killing them. Alot of mini boss characters. So the battles would end up difficult, even with all the force powers/abilities they'd both have. Where as the newbie side would have the full travel, side quest, character progression(of the new character, and those that join along with him/her). So the newbie party would play indentical to the way Kotor 1 and 2 played. And the Exile/Revan party playing more like that Dxun sith raid side mission. But alot more of them, with lots of dialogue and exposition about the True Sith and why they've become a threat, etc. Hell you could even have a couple super missions where Revan and the Exile split up and go down opposite ends of a corridor, and one has to open the way for the other to move on, and it jumps back and forth between Revan and Exile as you progress from heavily defended secured building.
  3. I agree they should make the game take more than one PC and have different story threads that tie together in the end. Like the Star Wars films did. I think Revan and Exile should be a 2 man unit, and no other party members for them(Revan sent for Exile after all). Where as the newbie that forms the other PC & story thread should be one of those that part of the preparation for the defense of the Republic(perhaps trained by Handmaiden or Visas). Be cool to go from high end Epic content with Revan and Exile, to more normal fighting and missions with a newbie. To fill out Revan and Exile, perhaps send HK47, to fill the 3rd spot. Otherwise keep those two seperate from the Republic, and have them do really hard missions, direct missions so theres no flying between places, you start as them at the beginning of a area and proceed forward with their own quest till its finished, then your pov returns to the newbie(and the Newbie plays like the first two games, flying between planets, heaps of side quests). They are like interludes from the newbie, and push the plot forward. And since both Revan and Exile are PC's, you can choose to be either. Perhaps the newbie after gaining power helps strengthen the republic by going around to key support/production worlds and clearly out problems(the main thrust of the Newbie is to do this), to help keep the republic strong. And late in the game Newbie and Revan and Exile form into a party(if at all). I hope the 3rd game does have a new engine. Maybe even a game made for xbox 360, better visuals, more models on screen. Physics into the gameplay, and puzzles perhaps. (w00t) Probably to good to be true.
  4. In Kotor 3 I want all the first two games had(gameplay wise), minus the 2nd games crafting system. I want improved next gen graphics, and physics(so say a Dark side Sith could force throw objects in a room against the target, like Vader does). And remove the random item drops, perhaps leave small items like health pack ands other minor stuff as random. Leave useful items as static. The game should start at level 15(so you level up to 15 when you create the character), with a lightsaber, and turn the rest of the game into epic content, ala the Hordes of the Underdark. With a high level cap(50?). We'll know what graphics when we find out what the two games Bioware are developing for Xbox 360 are and what they look like. Unreal 3.0 is very likely, we know Bioware are creating a RPG layer to add to Unreal 3.0 so they may utilize this for Kotor 3(or atleast, I can dream this'll happen). I wanna see larger worlds. Perhaps abit like SWG(as far as the size of traversible terrain per planet) and some open terrain to travel on(with no zones to travel through, just one big open area). Would give a reason to have and use speeders then too( I can't be the only one sick of those always having their controls locked!). :D I want more puzzles, I want more detective style missions too like the one on Dantooine in Kotor 1. I also want more droid types(considering how linear T3 has been, there could half a dozen different droids with similar linear dialogue, perhaps even a Protocol Droid that can be used to persuade people). Oh and a new ship to travel in! Also I assume kotor 3 will revolve around Revan and Exile and the threat Revan went off to face. So the first half of the game you play as Exile(flowing on from Kotor 2) finding & saving Revan(perhaps by finding Bastila and then going on from there), then you have Revan and Exile as your main characters, and you get to send them off to do different missions/planets simultaneously. Even if they end up on opposite side of the force spectrum, if there is some dangerous threat out in the outer rim, would unite these two. Right now I just want a Kotor 3(even with the same graphics as the first two), I worry that Kotor 2's forced early release will gimp its critical reception and therefore sales and kill the franchise(does anyone know how many copies of Kotor 2 have sold?). I love both games(like I love all Bioware games, and Black Isle/Obsidian games).
