You could check out this tool for helping you pick a class.

Where are the results?
Also, let me add that some questions were relatively unclear, such as "what are your favorite character/class in PoE". It isn't clear if it is the favorite character/class that you like to play with or that you have empathy for, which is quite different, as you can have a character or class that you liked because you thinked it was interesting, original etc but you actually like playing with another char/class...
What I linked before was the survey. Now that it has enough responses, you can see results after taking this predictor.
-
This website will take the responses from a survey and combine it with a deep learning AI to make suggestions.
I made this particular survey when PoE first came out, but not many people had played enough to answer it then. I just remembered it, and thought it would be fun.
Edit:
Awesome! You can see the class and race suggestions after taking this predictor.

There's more than enough xp to be gained in this game, so no reason not to play with a full party other than style preference.
A lot of people like the solo playstyle. It allows for a more action, less strategy, approach.
-
I know it's none of my business, but it would be interesting to get info on how the game is doing in sales.
Any particular reason you want to know this? Just curious.

That's why it always felt useless! I thought it was a really interesting ability too.

I think the current stats allow for more build diversity. I can make an AoE wizard or a nuke wizard. A damage ranger, or an interrupt ranger. Etc.

The survey is on a website that makes predictions based on survey answers. A lot of the surveys there now are for predicting a class and/or race in an RPG, and they're actually pretty accurate (in my experience). I went ahead and made one for Pillars of Eternity. I thought it would be especially useful for new players, since this game has some fairly unique classes and mechanics. Before the survey can make predictions for new players, it needs responses from experienced players. With all the new players coming in, I think this would be useful. Of course, since the game just came out, the only players that are really experienced are the beta players.P.S. You can register without an email, and your response is anonymous.

Wizards definitely feel lackluster.

I think it works as intended. Having the possibility of withdrawing it from your stash, would make them obsolete, since you could have infinite number of supplies at any time, making the game a whole lot easier.
Having two at the time on Hard diff, makes the game more challanging while crawling though the dungeons.
I think the issue is that they disappear entirely. No longer in the container, nor in your stash. They should just stay in the container.

Unlike most modern rpgs. These kind of games tend to have a very low level cap. However, they also tend to have greater effects on level up.
-
It seems like all your issues are related to roleplaying. I get the impression that Obsidian wanted to focus on gameplay and story over roleplaying.

Ya, my character looks pretty bland without his cloak

Wow, this thread is getting replies by the minute.

I think the stronghold visitors are just the people that are actually staying at the stronghold, not everyone that passes through.
-
I think it needs about 50 or so, but the more it gets, the more accurate the predictions will be.
-
so, I assume that the game disk will be shipped in a different game box which we cant see yet? Looks great btw
I believe that's the plan. They did it this way so backers could get their rewards on (or near) release day.
-
Hopefully someone will release a trainer so players who want to can respec, change class, race, or whatever else they want.

Sense of urgency? A chanters singing is their weapon, so singing is that important.
-
I'm about 10 hours in, and don't have any major issues with the game. If you want to play now, I'd say go for it.
-
Scout everywhere!
-
Full mod support. Think Neverwinter Nights.

I agree, seeing an ad for a website on a tombstone really breaks immersion. It reflects badly on the website too.

Sounds like you'd like the Cipher. They're pretty much spell swords.
