  1. Malak is a hebrew word meaning angel. So Darth Malak means Shadowy Archangel.

Revan is most likely a shortened version of revenant meaning a dead man who comes back to life.

I doubt it because those were their names before they became Sith.

Bioware just didn't want to confuse us by giving us three names for Revan and two for malak.

They did the same thing by having Revan wearing his sith mask and star forge 'Revan' robes in the flashback on dantooine.

  2. Couldnt find anything for Malak (Malek).

A Malik is the leader of a small town.

Biowares names look like they are just names.Perhaps because they dont change on becoming Sith.

    Darth means 'shadow warrior.'

Sion is suggesting either that he is the heir to Revan, or Disciple of Kreia.

  3. Nihilis is a foil to the exile, not the exile. All the relationships between nihilis and exile are strictly metaphorical. Think of it like in the movie High Plains Drifter. Eastwood's character is the brother of a character at the beginning. The movie suggests at times that he's actually a ghost. But he's not. It's all for metaphoric purposes.

Most likely Nihilis is just some guy who the writers have used to represent the exile's loss of power.

As far as Revan/Nihilis is concerned, the connection is asanine. Revan's character model looks to be about a foot shorter than nihilis's and nihilis appears to be on roids, which revan doesn't.

  4. With Bao-dur, you need to express concern when he gets out of prison, ask him to help you with stuff on Dantooine and Nar Shaddah, do an act of mercy while he's in the party, give a visa to a republican on Onderon, and potentially kill someone while Kreia and him are in the party (Kreia will mind trick him into gaining influence).

    LS or DS.

The next dialogue option with him will let him train as a jedi. If DS, DO NOT start a dialogue with him for any reason before you've done all this.

  5. mmmm don't think armor is really viable for a jedi, even for a STR one

robes are generally +1 or +2 def

add to them +4 from master speed  are you are not too far from armors...

and you will have 2 more attacks/round

pit in the equation even force defence for another +6 def and you have the defence of the best armors

(and i'm not considering dex bonuses)

I believe the Def bonus from the speeds is glitched and doesn't work, much like DS fury fails to add extra attacks.

  6. Atton in his usual attire and armed with a single Mandalorian blaster and a handful of Mandalorian shields did the job without breaking much of a sweat the second time. Shoot one of them to pieces (takes a while to whittle down the shield), pick up her blade, use to whack the sister (oh, the poetic justice, not to mention, it fetches a fair price when selling).

Unlike Kotor1, I actually found quite a few uses for shields in this game. Probably because people generally looked "cooler" in their default clothes than in big bulky armours

The armor in this game is totally inferior to whatever any character that would wear armor starts out with, excepting Bao-dur, who is the only character that heavy armor would be useful on, but he can't wear that.

  7. Not once they've mastered it perhaps, but what about during their training?

"Umm Master Vandar sir?  Johnny chopped off his other leg.  Maybe we should give him a single hilt."

I see your point, but jedi train with non-cutting blades.

Even still, I can't remember anyone from the martial arts school I used to attend missing instruction because they gave themselves a thigh hematoma with a bo. I do remember one guy accidentally cutting his arm trying to do something too advanced with a katana.

Edit: the swing pattern and the grip used makes it difficult to hit one's self with a staff.

  8. Lucas is ignorant of combat tactics, many times I just wish he would shut up instead of making stuff up to explain his ignorance.

The lightstaff is a more defensive that a single lightsaber since its easier to block with it as for dual wield its also a defensive style since the purpose is to block the enemy weapon and strike with the other.

This stuck out in my head ever since I read on lucasarts website that staff sabers are too dangerous and aggressive for jedi. The whole idea of using one of these things in martial arts is that they are less lethal than swords and better at blocking an attack.

  9. DUDE some very good but Bridget Fonda ewww KIFE

Don't know what KIFE means, but Mira looks just like her character in Single White Female.

I still like Rutger Hauer as Canderous slightly over Perlman simply because he's older and the way Canderous talks about himself (in Kotor1 during jhis last two dialogues and in kotor2 when you say you thought he'd be stronger than he is) suggests to me that the writers envisioned him much older than the animators made him.

I will admit that Perlman MUST have been the animators' inspiration for the Canderous model.

  10. Kreia- Marianne Faithful/the woman who plays old McGonaghall in the potter movies

    Atton- Alan Cummings

Disciple- that moron from Rollerball and American Pie

    Handmaiden- Halle Berry/Ann Heche

    Bao Dur- Chris Walken/Tony Shalhoub

HK-47- the Animators that did the horrible (but great looking) Final Fantasy movie

    T3-M4- R2D2

Go-to- Any actor lose his throat from long term cigarettes?

    Visas Marr- Kelly Hu

    Mandalore- Rutger Hauer

    wookie- Peter Mayhew

    Mira- Bridget Fonda

    Sion- Gary Oldman

Nihilis- Sven Ole Thorsen (Thorgrim from Conan1, the gladiator with the cool mask from Gladiator, in some other stuff too) and some guy with a keyboard

Atris- the woman who plays James Bond's Boss

Vrook- don't know. Christopher Lee is the only one pompous enough and he's already Dooku

    Zaz Kai Ell- Jason Alexander

    Vash- someone hot

    Kavar- Roger Moore

    the Exile- uh...Casey Affleck? :ermm:

  11. I wish they inserted dialog like the ones vader do, In the cloud city when he double crosses lando, he says something like, "there's been a change in our agreement, pray that i don't modify it further" or something like that, dark brooding and is definitely not brutish. They could do perhaps the silent type thinker who will unleash a mean force storm when annoyed, now that is what a Sith Lord should be...

question: who ripped darth malak's jaw?? was it revan on a anger fit or debris when malachor exploded? or something??

There are lines like this. You can start making demands from Vaklu when assaulting onderon. One of which is that Onderon give you all the force sensitives on the planet so that you can build your own personal army.
