I really wonder why they made that fuss about whether to ship the physicals good with or without the discs. It comes too late anyway. I understand that shipping physical stuff to thousands of backers requires some logistics. But man, they had TWO YEARS to think about it! They could have easily started shipping of all physical goods (except the discs) at the beginning of the year, then everybody could enjoy the game TOGETHER with their map, manual etc. Now, with my status still showing "Shipping soon", I just have the option to wait another couple of weeks if I want to play while having my physical goods, or play now and receive my physical stuff when I'm already through with the game My lesson learned: never back for physical goods again

Having it as a "native" Steam game has the advantage of automatic updates. Having an additional GOG copy would provide the DRM-free counterpart. So both platforms have their advantages.
