Same problem here. Guardian/Weapon Master. Lots of feats have poofed from the selection screen. Stealth Run, Conditioning line, Empathy line, Gear Head line.. just to name a few.
Anyone have any clue as to why?
I think tops on my list would have to be the interface and character creation systems. The inventory system was utter garbage (keep in mind I live in PCland) and I suppose the rest of the GUI worked but it just had that console port feel to it. Im not sure how else to describe it. Like it was made for a gamepad not a mouse. Character creation also bugged the crap outta me. Very limited look and you can be human only? <_<
Fighting was boring to watch. The same couple of moves over and over and over.
The mini games needed to die. Im a Jedi why cant I wave my hand about and convince my opponent he needs to play to 25? Swoop racing was a twitchers game, something I personally feel has no place in an RPG. They really needed to put in those swoop enhancements. The gun turret was pointless and annoying. Youd think after destroying 50 squadrons of fighters Malak would have figured out I only hang around a couple of different planets.
Speaking of which planet and galaxy size really bugged me too. As has been mentioned before both planets and the galaxy in general seemed very.. very.. small. And aside from the cutscenes you could have forgotten altogether that there was an end-of-all-life-as-we-know-it war going on.
And the inventory system. Boy did I despise my inventory.
The game was incredibly short too. I guess it might have something to do with the small planets. I certainly dont want devs to start sticking in useless wilderness areas ala BG1 but jeez.. I think I finished KOTOR in about 15 - 20 hours of casual gaming.
Weak romances on both sides. As a male I was told I had to hate Carth. Happily I didnt have to fake it. Bastilla was Aribeth 2.0 even used the same actor. At least she wasnt an Elf. Bastilla didnt jiggle as much as Aribeths avatar though Definately need more jiggle in KOTOR2.
Did I mention I really hated the inventory? Somewhere a baby Ithorian died everytime I opened it.
I dunno.. I dont want to come across as hating the game. I did enjoy it. I just felt it was a good game not a great game. The whole thing was just a bit limp.
Heres hoping Obsidian has a good healthy dose of Viagra handy.
