  1. I think you could implement that pretty easily. Just load up whatever stats the companion is supposed to have and reset him at the appropriate level. I mean code-wise it shouldn't be hard with a silly workaround.

Maybe reset talents/skills as well while they're at it.

This does seem like something that could be fixed retroactively: they know what the default values should be for NPCs (and PCs?), and they can just force the game to re-run calculations for things like Deflection.

    In theory.

  2. So has anyone found that your backer pledge tier does not match the pillars of eternity edition that you can redeem? What i mean by this is I pledged the "Retail Pack" tier during the kickstarter phase which includes all items in the Royal Edition. However my account states I can only redeem a key for the "Kickstarter Champion Edition" which does not include every that is listed in my pledge.

I'm very hesistant to redeem a key through steam because of this. I did send a support ticket to Obsidian, but I am curious to know if anyone else encountered this or knows any more information that I am not aware of. Did I even make sense explaining this? Thanks!

No need to worry, and you can go ahead and redeem through Steam. Any digital assets "missing" from your Steam edition will appear in your backer portal (they haven't unlocked yet); any physical assets will still be sent out by mail.

  3.

All this tomfoolery about "backers first" regarding a game that has a set universal release date is quite stupid. Yes, Obsidian is just as bad as EA because they didn't get the keys for a game with a set release date out on time a day early.

And again for you: you can't and shouldn't compare crowdfunded games and how to mange them to publisher financed games. Completely different playing ground. If you don't see that you're the one with the stupid opinion.

The terms under which you crowdfunded it were clear and unequivocal from the start. Obsidian never promised you that you would get the game earlier than other customers, they never even hinted that you would get unspecified perks beyond those which you paid for, and they never said they would suspend marketing activities to appease your sense of justice.

You are a customer, not a patron of the arts or a stakeholder. If you misunderstood what your backing meant, that's not Obisidian's fault.
