Fallout 3 wasn't that bad, guys.  Okay, the story wasn't very good, but the world they created was pretty fun to explore.

I never buy Bethesda games for their main story.  It's their world building ability that draws me in.

    here's a question about fallout 3

What do the people on the capital wasteland eat?

in fallout 1, 2 and NV you see farms with crops and brahmin in every town you visit... in 3 there is a single brahmin pen in the entire game as far as i remember.

also, how can cars that were destroyed by nukes over 200 years ago, still have gas in their tanks?

im too tired to keep making a list (plants, animals, mutant and so on) but i think i make my point

non sensical world building at it's finest indeed

Mama Dolce's fine processed foods of course! Like with all multinational conglomerates, you don't need to know where the food comes from.

If a magician does a trick, then certainly he knows how it is done (whether you do or not). Does that knowledge make it any less magic?

Well yeah, that's why many of them prefer to be called "illusionists" now.

The only people going around calling themselves magicians are those crappy ones who can't perform without a group of actors pretending to be amazed for the cameras for their TV series.

Err, I might be too opinionated on this.

They can't all be Doug Henning:

It's too bad the Natural Law Party didn't win it in '93. We could have had the GST disappear just like this elephant. Instead we got Chretien.

That would have been better if I could find the actual ad Henning used during that election. That had to have been the most famous tv ad during that election. This is as close as it's gonna get:

  3. I'm now at the age where I've decided it's probably a good idea to wear shin pads when I'm pitching.

It's wasn't the game last year where I got hit twice in the same leg with one of the welts that took 3 months to completely go away. No, it's this one that could be mistaken for another knee.

  4. Here are the minimum specs:

    • OS: WindowsXP SP3, Windows Vista SP2, Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8 (both 32/64bit versions)
    • Processor: Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2180 @ 2.0 GHz or AMD Athlon64 X2 3800+ @ 2.0 GHz
    • Memory: 2 GB GB RAM
    • Graphics: nVidia GeForce 8800GT or AMD Radeon HD2600XT (512MB VRAM with Shader Model 4.0 or higher)

The graphics card can be key if your computer is on the old side. Also, if you have a system with XP and you haven't upgraded the amount of RAM that came with it, that could be a problem too.

  5. Kinda strange they didn't do another group of them. They still have a couple of more Monkey Islands, Full Throttle, the older Indiana Jones ones, more Star Wars games and possibly Maniac Mansion 1 - unless DF has access to the rights for that as well as DOTT.

    But who's keeping track?

  6. Because it's their reputation, any bug that occurs in one of their games is blown up under a microscope because people are looking for them.

I stopped buying NCAA Football games (outside of '10 so I could have one for the 360) because they introduced crowd noise in '05, and when it would get "too loud" the game would crash. I couldn't get past Nebraska.

360 fully patched GOTY FO3 had a game-crashing bug in it for me that was worse than anything I experienced in NV unpatched vanilla. I had to go back multiple saves multiple times to get through Zeta, a DLC I hated more than just about anything else on there. I haven't touched it again since, even when I picked it up for PC when I finally replaced my old one that died just before FO3 first came out. Meanwhile by reputation, NV is a lot worse than that.

I don't remember any real problems with DS3, but I was late to the game with that one.

I only experienced 1 minor camera glitch in South Park that worked itself out after that turn, but because of their reputation I remember it. I've had many camera glitches in many other games but I can't remember which ones right now because of reputation.

Yet I don't remember what problems I had when I first experienced KOTOR2 for the first time (outside of wandering why I couldn't finish HK-47's story) because Obsidian was new to me and they didn't have a reputation. (I didn't realize they were Black Isle til a bit later.)

But then NWN2 had some of the same bugs experienced by others in KOTOR2, then AP, then NV. It almost doesn't matter how solid their games are from here on out. Any bug would be put under a microscope moreso than with most other companies that can make major titles, many times with people giving it a "wait til they patch it first" warning.
