    Unless "romance" serves a narrative,thematic or gameplay purpose Obsidian shouldn't waste it's time on such fluff. Apart from being a waste of resources it caters to the crowd that couldn't care less about quality story or gameplay mechanics and will give the game and company a bad reputation(like a "certain" other company).
