  1. Guess i should wish for a Miria/Davin thing then, at least it will be funny!
  2. I with Boo on this one, as for endings, i think a happy & a sad ending should be avaiable, failing that, have only a "neutral ending" with your guy living out a average life with his/her love interest, with its ups & downs. Not every relationship ends in tragedy and not every one ends in a supah dupah "happily ever after" kind of way. Upon reflection, Jaheira's ending, if i remember correctly was pretty much what i said above, just to ilustrate. Every relationship penned by MCA ends in tragedy, so brace yourself for some greek ****. Well, i havent played P:T but what other kind of examples can you give me? i know for a fact that IWD doesnt have romances and the FO2 one is more as a comedy than anything (still, it doesnt ends in tragedy). Greek ****? i hope you dont mean Oedipus kind of ****

  4. Oh ok, i was unsure if i would take your post seriously or it was just a well made joke, still i find that it is possible to write a romance between the PC and an NPC, it would require much more effort, as you can imagine, but it can be done (despite that some disagree with me, some BG2 mods acomplish that). Lets not forget its an RPG game, you should have the option to make your PC follow a romance path if you so desire.
  5. Wow, was Anomen Delryn (lol, he had an surname) that bad as a character? i never had him for long in my party (sorry anomen, but Edwin's gotta take your place) so i really cant say much about him (a problem i am currently facing, since i have no ideia for a banter between him & my NPC mod) Yeah i kinda went off a little bit , i meant BG2 & ToB and FO for the exemplary NPC (not only companions) dialogue
  6. Like in the original BG & P:T? Thats the best way me thinks. Dont wanna burst your bubble, but romances or "adult romantic interations" as i think it was put in the interview are confirmed to be in the game. Also, you underestimate what a romance between characters can do from a storytelling perspective, Dialogue & Inner party "banter" was what made "old-school" RPGs for me. Thats Why BG & FO are my favorite RPGs of all time. But since i have strong feeling that post was kinda troll. lol
  7. Eternity was always supposed to be a nod to the Infinity Engine right? so i take Eternity will be the name of the new engine (unless they have already state what engine they are working with and i am completly off with my comentary here).
  8. There is an actual Walkthrough on how to (keep the) romance with Viconia for BG2 and ToB, thats how challanging the thing is As for the machanic, keeping it hidden is much better IMO, DA made it too "arcade" by adding the gifts and the relationship bar.
  9. I think its not much about the number of options but the quality of the dialogue, but if you meant "more options = less quality for each options" then i agree with you, i would prefer 2 really in-depth romance paths than eight ones that are just a "Hi->flirt->flirt more->kiss->sex->end" type of romance.
  10. Just to clarify - is it bad or good, that fans of BG/BG2 are here? With what Bioware has become, i think it is a good thing (hey there are alot other sites BG fans dwell!, mostly the SHS site)
  11. Oh, i know what your talking about mate, the lots & lots of "body" mods that exist for Fallout 3/NV & TES games. P:E wont have a place for those from the get-go, since we are talking about a isometric game, "eye candy" isnt really gonna work. With that said, just please be careful next time, you came off sounding really bad with the whole "Nexus shouldnt be allowed!" or what not. I am actually quite against using a Nexus-like site for modding, because belive or not, it takes away the charm of making a mod IMO, with TES & FO3 mods seems so generic that even great ideias get lost and dont get the support they deserve. I actually prefer something akin to what we currently have around Infinity Engine modding, more spread sites making content that cross with each other (example being the "modded NPCs bantering with each other" mod).
  12. Thats also a good option, as i said somewhere on this thread before, going for comic relief with this would also be a homage to Davin & Miria from FO2
  13. Except I never cared about any of these. Just make a separate porn(dot)nexusmods(dot)com, Do not allow any nudity and porn in the other sites and it's done. As I said the problem is that almost every file on nexus will have a nude+ pic. And because sometimes the modders themselves use nude mods on their screens, even mods that have nothing to do with that will be flagged as adult. Or not and it's still going to have that imature nude H cup pic. Ok, so no worries there, P:E isnt gonna be the kind of game that you can really show nudity and the worse it can happen to you is that there is gonna be written porn in a mod. On another note i find somewhat funny you being worried about nudity when P:E clearly is meant for a much more mature audience (sure we get stupid "BOOBIES" mods on the Nexus, but those are trash like many other mods).
  14. kenup, out of curiosity, what kind of mods you think should be censored? This discussion really makes me remember a old topic about a guy that wanted to shut down a mod that made Viconia lesbian, mainly because he thought it was wrong . I really cant see any reason for someone to want to censorship mods.
  15. Why? There will be mods for PE, we can't stop it at this point even if we wanted to - and Nexus is arguably the best place to put them on. Where else would you want to see them? In a place where there are limits about what is allowed. And also in a place where it's not populated by bethesda fatboys that download porn mods primarily. What's up with this totalitarian mindset? So trying to deny people romances in the main game is not enough, now you are willing to deny them to have theirs in their personal small apartment HDD mod space? Ban and censor the opposition right in their homes? Also agree with you here, any mods should be allowed (as long as it doesnt involve breaking contracts). Censoring would just be wrong, why deny people of what they want in the game? Its not logical, we should allow the modders to express themself however they see fit, that is one of the main fundations for a modding community anyway, to show your creativity.
  16. While you might have not enjoyed them (or had experience with really badly written ones) i would point out the NPC expansion for BG1 mod as an excelent example of how party dialogue would be done (its way better than ME's or DA's, IMO) , it gives all NPCs the much needed banter and adds makes few of the characters have a romance option. As a kinda of a BG modder myself (currently doing a NPC mod), i find your statement quite rude, since we dont all make crappy pornographic dialogues ( this is the kind of feeling i got from your statement). Also, Saerileth is probably one of the worst examples out there. Gotta Agree with that.
  17. Well true, Female CHARNAME really gets the shaft with only Anomen as option (again, mods save the day). Still, i am gonna say this again, Romances in BG2 are alright with the exception of Aerie (oh dear god, the whining is annoying as hell)
  18. From what i have been reading on this topic, people only seem to point out the latest Bioware romances as bad example (which they are, btw). Have you guys played BG2 (with or without the numerous romance mods)? or maybe Fallout 2 with the Miria mod? There are ways to make romances work within a game and not being the focal point (like DA2) of the storyline. Whenever Obsedian will put them in the game or it will be made by modders doesnt matter, but i what i am sad to see is some people that apparently think romances are inherently bad in a game, which is just wrong.
  19. Hi guys, i was watching the kickstarter countdown and was hyped to the roof by seeing all the devs getting drunk on camera, at any rate, we didint hit 4 million on Kickstarter but i heard some people saying we went past the mark on PayPal. I am sorry if this seems noobish, but can someone explain this to me? did we get the so called Enchanced Game? -BR4ZIL
  20. I seem to remember a decent number of well-known NPC mods with romance for BG2, but it's really been a while since I played anyway (or looked at the modding scene). People who keep saying it's optional don't realize that romance can easily unbalance available companion content for someone who doesn't go down that path; this is much worse when there are only 8 companions to choose from, not the 18 in BG2, for example. If it makes it into the game, I just want it subtle and not overpowering anything, ever--character content or main storyline. If it turns out that a party NPC's content is half-locked behind a romance path, and I end up not choosing that path, and the party NPC ends up being very quiet with little else to say halfway through the game, that's just an awful waste and boring as all hell. I might as well just get a mercenary spot from the Adventurer's Hall. Companions must be equally compelling to both romancers and non-romancers. (I'll still never forgive a friend who exclaimed that all the companions in PE should be pansexual and romances everyone, any sex or race. Really?) LOL, maybe I should mod a romance. Coming from someone who studied the sociology of unhealthy relationship and role expectations arising from Western popular media. BG2 has ALOT (and i mean really, alot) of romance mods, just check Spellhold Studios/Pocket Plane Group or any other infinity engine modding sites, there is even romance mods for some BG1 characters. With that said, i would actually like if would get BG2 styled romances (minus the Aerie one, god, that was awful), i thought Viconia's was written relatevely well (or maybe i just used so many mods its not even her original dialogue). But if we dont get romances, i also alright with that, a nice thing would be a nod to Fallout 2 with a crappy "glue/useless" romance partner you really dont want around.
  21. Voted For, when i DM i usually award experience once the gaming session is over, not only its much better to manage the storyline/campaign but you dont people going "lets kill those guys we just worked for, the experience will be good!". Fighting shouldnt be something you would be going for, but actually trying to avoid if there wouldnt be any significant reward (item-wise).
  22. Sorry about posting on wrong section, i thought P:E General Discussion where only about gameplay stuff. Those links aswered my question, Thanks for the info guys!
  23. Hi folks, when i heard about Eternity i was immediately hooked, being a huge fan of Baldur's Gate & Fallout (1&2) i had to back this up. But after looking out around Kickstarter's Q&A and P:E's page i couldnt find any info about how are they will be delivering the digital stuff (game, in-game bonus etc), will it be e-mailed to your kickstarter's email? or it is something else, if someone knows, please help me.
