  1. hmm... not that easy to decided but i guess some mentioning or a book about a order that tried to change the world and failed miserably would something that could be done by obsidian.

But would be nice if it could be a joinable faction in the game or something like that

I say let`s try to go for the 1000 first and then if we can take it farther lets tackle the 5000 goal

  2. Haha, great news about the title... Now I'll wonder if I should have picked something more serious :p Bah, whatever days to come may be, everyone will still need a trusty little mascot with them, right ?

Mascot is quite a secure position in the order, I think. Mages and kinghts could get killed in the field but maskots, harlots and cleaning ladies can stay in the warm and cosy guildhouse.

Yeah but they need someone to protect them so no one could get them at the guildhouse :)

and anyway what would the live be without some spellslinging.

so and because no one did it before here are some refreshmens for everyone

    take what you like

  3. Personal conflict and aguish of the main character made parallel with the conflict and anguish of the environment.

Pick up a central theme and then reflect it in as many ways possible. BG2 did this with heroism and divinity (and the cost thereof), Torment did this with (im)mortality and identity. What will be the cetral theme of Project Eternity?

This is an excellent question, and I'm suprised this is the first time I have seen it.

The only two things I can use to guess the game's main theme is the name and the discussion of souls; shattered souls, unbroken souls etc. So perhaps it has to do with reincarnation and a battle that continues across time and through countless generations (see my avatar :))? There's definitely potential there. I think the mature theme would be 'Do I continue the struggle like I have in my previous lives? Do I try to find a way to end the cycle? Or, if I think the cycle will continue no matter what I do, go the hedonist route and get as much out of this life as possible'? (tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TakeAThirdOption)

The idea with reincarnation sounds pretty intressting and with the main theme of the story with souls it would lend itself in that direction.

Maybe the supernatural event that you witness has something to do with regaining memories of a past live/ other person.

  4. What would be if magic was a kind of "disease" that corrupts the soul of a person and the only way to stop/slow

the corruption is to use magic every few hours or so.

But throug the progress of the disease you are able to use more powerfull spells and feats. So it becomes kind of moraly

question if you let yourself be corruptet for power or if you let yourself become corrupte to save a loved on.

Don`t really know what sould be the negative aspects of the corruption.

  5. Then we need a meaning for a strong soul. A strong soul can be quit a few things. It can be strong because it never begs down or it can be strong because

it is always tempert with. And in this line of thougt it would be great if you could kind of forge your soul with magic or something like that.

You start out extending the boundrys of the space you can control with magic and you can only influence your on body at first make it strong, faster etc.

or you can use rituels and sacrifes to strenghen your soul with the souls of other people or something like that.

  6. I don't like the idea of spells coming at a price, magic is the only thing mages know and this is a fast way of making magic unplayable/nurfed/unfun. I DO like the idea of making pacts with demons/deities to gain powers that surpass normal, and I like the idea of having to take a life to bring back a life. Kill someone and capture their soul/lifeforce to be used in some way. Like a single soul can summon 4 skeletons, or two zombies, or has the power to bring someone back to life fine. However, for the high power stuff like, a vampire requires 2 souls, bringing back a body of a slain enemy as an undead thrall with their skills/memories/powers back to fight for you, 5 souls to bring back a super thrall, the chracter is reanimated, but the level goes up to mach the characters, the powers/skills get bonuses and they get regenerative healing. And say 10 souls allow for the zombie apocolypse, summons one zombie, when it kills something that thing comes back, and when it kills something..etc

I agree with this one more magic should not be cost to much but some sacrifices of souls and demon deals could make playing a spellcast more intressting. But i would say that for low level magic there should not be some kind of sacrife only for the more powerfull or possible world changing ones.
