  1. One thing which made Baldurs Gate II great was its replay value. I myself played the game at least once for every class because of the different player "housings". Some of them were very elaborate (like the Keep or the Theater) yet other seemed pale (like the Druid Grove). It would be a great boon for Project Eternity if something along that line would be in the game. But the most important thing was the banter. Obviously the banter between the player character and it's comrades was very important and entertaining. This means the more npc to recruit the better. At the moment it seems like we will have 8 npc to recruit if we manage to hit 2 million. This is not enough. In Baldurs Gate II there were 17 npc you could recruit. Granted, some of them were very shallow. Like Mazzy or Valygar. But I think that a dozen recruitable npc are a must. So please think about this stretchgoal: "3 million -> 4 addidtional characters". Aside from the banter between player character and npc was the banter between the party members. There was nothing more enjoying than the arguments between Keldorn and Viconia or the talk between Aerie and Korgan. Pure gold! So please think about this long and hard. Preferable reach the same conclusion as I did
  2. I think turnbased combat is a must in games like Jagged Alliance because there is so much shooting going on. Tactics play a much larger role in those kind of games. The Infinity-Engine games always were about strategy and melee. Who should be in my group and which spells should be memorized. It always came down to the right strategy in terms of casters and spells. There is no need for turn based combat because there are no tactics. Just a large explosion during which you need to make sure you are the one standing in the end. At least I played this way. Maybe there are other ways
  3. Oh my god. Is there seriously a debate going on about the question whether the game should be awesome or use a soon-to-be ugly 3d engine? I want to play this game in 10 or 20 years without my eyes beeing insulted by some outdated 3d engine. It's not about nostalgia, it's about ageing. Baldurs Gate 1 is still a beautiful painting. Any 3d game from 1998 is unplayable because of the use of a seemingly 'superior' 3d engine. You just can't beat a painting. Don't fool yourself we havn't reached the pinnacle of graphics yet. Any 3d game being released right now will look bizarre in 20 years. Also, the devs want to create a Infinity-esk game. If you don't want such a thing support an other game.
