More party member mean more of everything: the world will have to be bigger, the town will have to have more population, the battles will have to involve more enemies... all of this means higher processing requirements, and if Obsidian is planning to make the game accessable to people with less powerful computer systems, it would mean the graphical quality of the game would have to be decreased.
And before anyone says that graphics don't matter: I'm not talking about decreasing the texture resolution or smoke effects, I'm talking about less different models, less viewing distance and less animations, and that's not something I would like to see omitted.
3-4 party members, main character included, are enough in my books. I'm more of a quality over quantity sort of guy anyway.
Uh, what "viewing distance"? It's a 2D isometric game.
We had six man parties with this technology 14 years ago.

Assuming this isn't a troll post:
Keep in mind this is an isometric game. Your characters are going to be too far away to see most of those details.

I like the idea that you start off struggling to survive. What I dislike is the idea that the random dice gods decide if you live long enough to make it to level 2. No low level PC should be able to die from a single critical hit from nameless bandits, unless the encounter is really weighed in his favor in other ways.
That's only a problem if you're placed in a linear corridor and the only way out is through those nameless bandits. Otherwise, pick your battles and go kill some goblins instead. Humans are tough.

Yep. Brutal, life-and-death low-level combat is always a joy. I wouldn't want a game without it.

What's this "DLC" business? They're called expansion packs, people.

They've already sold out. :/ Ditto for other rewards that look like they might run out.
Wasteland 2 added more pledge rewards when it became apparent there was a high demand - is it safe to assume that Project Eternity will do the same?

It's not gonna make 10 million. 5 is a possibility. The larger minimum pledge to get the game compared to previous Kickstarter projects alone will add a hefty sum to the final amount.

What Hoverdog and Delterius said.

You can also make the IE games turn based, in the pause options there's an option to pause at the start of each round.
That's not turn-based combat. Turn-based is when one character acts each turn. At best it's an approximation of phase-based combat.

The traditional D&D fighter is basically a grunt infantryman. His purpose is to hold the line (in before Mass Effect).
Have you ever played one of the Total War games? If you have, you'd know that manipulating your heavy infantry to hold the line is a fun tactical challenge in and of itself. They don't need shiny special abilities. Remember that this is a party-based game and you are not controlling one single character.
Dear Obsidian, don't listen to the crowd. Make the game as you have planned it.

Don't freak out too much. Yes, these forums are going to be infested for a month or two. The same thing happened with Wasteland 2.
In the end, the kiddies move on and the smart posters remain to work with the developers and give them good ideas. That also happened with Wasteland 2.
