Just to update this, the included ES Crate Fix worked like a charm.

Hey Kvellen Think I ran into a problem with 1 of your mods. Late Winter Early Seeker, and I'm a good bit into the game. Completed Hasongo, got the quest, and since it was still early on, I decided to hold off a bit. I went down into the hold of Defiant, talked to the Steward, and saw the container... but didn't click on it. So, fast forward about 20-30 hours later in the game and I'm finally ready to do Seeker, Slayer, Survivor, so I go down into the ships hold, but the container is no longer there. So then I realized, "Hang on, I did buy a new ship between then and now, Duh!", so I went back and got in Defiant to find it. Sailed out into open seas just to be sure, but it's not there either. No container in hold. Can't think of anything else I did otherwise. My journal is still at the "Open the strange package you found on your ship" stage. Do you think I should just wait till after I progress the story past the default stage for this quest? I think it's the 'He Waits In Fire" main quest. Thanks.

Got it. I've reached out to Aleksandrs over on Nexus asking about the 5 or so files in his economy mod that conflict with yours. However it turns out I'm sure it will be no problem. I'm set to get started on my journey. Thanks again for replying, sir. And thank you for the fantastic work.

Awesome, Kvellen thank you so much for clarifying that. I had a feeling the convo files were a bit more complicated to edit because of how many possibilities there are in dialogs. OK. So I had already grouped together the mods in my list that hit the same files (around 9 of them). Some just use 1 or 2 files that I can go through individually and remove. But some contain huge amounts of convo files, like the Community Patch Typos module (my bad, those were stringtables lol), No Forced Rest, and Comprehensive Leveling Improvement and EXP Reduction along with his economy rework Booty Buster. I guess I just have to pick the ones I can live without, right? Quick question on the modconfig.json. You said the in game manager is sometimes unwieldy. That is not referring to its efficacy, correct? I am assuming the json just mirrors exactly what that manager shows and it will load in that order? Again, thanks SO much for the help.

Just to move a conversation back to my own thread as I scan my modlist for conflicts... As I group like mods together, I understand the either/or dynamic for mods that point to a specific gamefile. You load the one you want last. Most of these are obvious. But if 2 mods are using the same 'conversationbundle' file, do they automatically fall into that either/or category? Or is that file type a different kind of modding tool used to access scripting language so more than 1 mod can make changes?

Understood. It's very interesting how certain mods and mod makers tend to purposely try and isolate their changes to a particular feature so that other mods can "slot in" alongside them and not cause problems, and some mods that do not. It can get a little tricky. Obviously if there are 2 mods that make changes on the same sword, you're going to have choose which you want. I know from using mods with a game like BG2, modmakers kind of had to go the extra mile to outline specific instructions, rules, and suggestions for use. And for the most part there were black and white rules for when, where, and how to incorporate the more ambitious mods. It seems POE2 is such a mod friendly game, things are a bit less strict (again, from somebody who has no idea how modding works). What I am currently stuck on as I try and look for overlapping files, are mods that contain the same 'conversationbundle' files. Some mods use tons of them, some will use 1. And I'm not sure if those are game files or ways to alter game files that can co-exist. Thanks for the response.

Hey, Kvellen just noticed your post. Sorry to intrude, just have a quick question. I'm planning to use quite a few of your mods in my first PoE2 playthrough. Haven't started yet. Was wondering if there's any general rules or guidelines I need to be aware of in regards to the load priority in order to avoid conflicts and/or errors. I started a thread on this forum, only because I couldn't find one on google. Any reply would be greatly appreciated

Yea, I think I'm in for quite a bit of trial and error with this. Which as I said, is fine and I'm looking forward to because when it's 'your' game and your installation, it kind of forces you test things and understand the ins and outs, which gives you more insight on the way these game engines compile things and how the mods interact. Well, I realize that's a large number. There are over 600 mods over on Nexus, many of them really interesting. And from my experience with using mods (which goes back a good amount... I remember a 100+ modlist for Skyrim), as far as the different systems working in the engine, I think if you try to focus on only adding smaller mods that adjust minor and dissimilar aspects of a game's engine (while having a somewhat logical understanding how the engine works), you are usually OK. At least that's what I'm trying to do. There are many mods, but not many "Overhaul" types that change multiple aspects at once. Think Witcher 3 combat overhaul mods. I'm not using anything like that. But regardless, and yes I will likely end up having to troubleshoot issues with that many.. I expect that... but I'm just having trouble finding any resource online that breaks down what (if any) types of mods need to be given priorities over others in the in game load list, aside from the handful of mods that do specify it in their descriptions.

Hi. Just trying to get some info on this before I start my playthrough. I have about 75-80 total mods loaded up from Nexus. Tried my best to organize things between gameplay, classes, abilities and item mods. Aside from using mods that obviously change the same things and would therefore conflict, is there any type of guideline for how to set up the priority from top to bottom? Or a list of specific mods (or types of mods) that need to be first, or last, etc? Thanks.
