I've been having the exact same issue and it's driving me batty. The same issue was present in the Outer Worlds but it didn't seem as terrible but here it's nearly making the game unplayable. With the amount of times you need to access the radial during combat, especially with how little essence you have and the need to constantly take restoratives to keep up with the combat, I don't know if I can keep playing the game. I find it hard to believe that the developers aren't aware of this issue yet it doesn't appear in the known issues list and I see no acknowledgment whatsoever about a planned fix. I will also add that if when closing the radial menu and quickly pressing a directional will cause the character to move at half speed until you let off the key and repress, adding any new directional, sprint, or jump will cause the character to stop moving.
