[Mechanics] Animal Companions & Various Buff Questions
I do like the idea of allowing them to pop wounding and stunning shots but I worry I'll remove some of the fun of the challenge, if that makes sense, but that's entirely arbitrary and I'd need to experiment with how it feels in-game to even determine if that's "easy" enough. Stalkers link is genuinely game changer even without a the +10 torc and I can already feel the lack of accuracy. Animals get a big power buff every 3 levels or so, first one at 4 and so on, but It's definitely not enough to carry the game. I'm pushing as far as I can (I've gotten to Caed Nua and dealt with the entire Temple of Eothas), but I think ultimately the challenge's rules will change slightly to allow this. Or allow traps/DoT scroll usage, as I feel that's pretty in spirit. Hell, tanglefoot is super cheap. Not being able to take those survival bonuses REALLY sucks, that could have carried me throughout the whole main story I feel like. Thanks for the response, the minute details like this are incredibly hard to find out on my own.

[Mechanics] Animal Companions & Various Buff Questions
I'm looking into how buffs work in regards to Animal Companions. Namely do they get resting bonuses, either from survival or inns? Does Apprentice's Sneak Attack stack with Merciless Companion ON the companion? (+IE 30% (MC) +15% (ASA). I'm asking these questions because I'm trying to go through POTD only using a party of animal companions without the rangers doing any damage and only being allowed to use marked prey / defensive and buffing scrolls, and for Caed Nua and Raderics Hold, I'll need all the help I can get to finish Act 1. Additionally, is marked prey supposed to interrupt? I've never noticed it doing so before. Currently on the latest beta build.

Is PoE2 too easy?
JaimeJoopii replied to Ocelot's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I would say that Deadfire lends the player a lot of leeway. My first playthrough I just came off the heels of the first game where I didn't fully understand the mechanics, and in the second game I understood them even less but just kinda brute forced it? I didn't understand how accuracy and defenses worked, I only really understood penetration. Even on my current play through, I'm trying to fully understand the mechanics and I've been wanting a hard wall, like the Adra Dragon in POE1, so I can learn how to properly buff my party and manage their skills and AI but the game just keeps giving me victories and it's strange.

Brainstorming a Ranger/Paladin for PoTD
Hey all! I've been theory-crafting a Ranger/Paladin hybrid that focuses on marked prey, stalkers link, zealot's accuracy(?), damage over time gear, and sneak attack bonus with a wolf companion while staying alive as long as possible, any ideas for stuff that could make this build really shine?
