And remember part 2 uses the same joystick part 3 needs, and can easily be locked if the contacts are stuck. I was a guy who palm rotated part 2. but even thumb rotating caused the same effect. And before i experienced it in other games which stopped after the cleaning. Dust mits friends. theyre out to get us! hahahaha

I had this issue and got it fixed. Its a controller hardware issue. I (with instructions) took my ps4 controller apart carefully and cleaned the contacts. Particularly the Left joystick that you use for part 2. Why was there no prompt? The controller was stuck thinking "hey hes scrolling left constantly" which you cant see in game. Nothing for the game to reflect that input except.... Randy's ball.... thus game sees wrong constant input. auto fail. Surgery clean carefully with a qtip, and BARELY any rubbing alcohol to get dust off (almost like the 90s ball tracked mice) and youre good to go! Hope this helps!!
