Small update on my MP drop issue \ High ping. We live in a rural area. We have 2 DSL lines: Line 1 has 5.5Mg dl'd \ .4Mg Up'ld with a BAU ping of ~30 and a jitter of 0. Line 2 has 3.5Mg dl'd \ .4Mg Up'ld with a BAU ping of ~15 and a jitter of 0. My everyday setup for the 2 PCs in the house connects to line 1; while line 2 feeds to other out buildings. We have no issues playing WoW(~70ping), and\or other handful of online MP games. We aren't big online gamers so don't do the 'off the chain' SPEC games. With our BAU setup the game worked perfect W\o any issues or high ping warranting from 10/17-10/23, then on 10/23 started dropping the joiner with in 15-secs. Only change on 10/23 was the DL'd of the latest 1.04 patch, and we started to build a small base at the starting suitcase area.
My update: Last night i moved 1 PC to line 2 for a test.. (Now PC 1 is on line 1 and PC2 is on line 2). Semi- success!!!!
Joiner was able to stay in the session. (yeaaaa). Joiner still received a High Ping warning about every 10-mins or so and then went away after 15secs or so. Didn't see any stability issues when the warning popped. Was able to play for about 3hrs w\o a drop. Rubber banded a tad from time to time (expected)
Guessing my issue stems around the drag on the IP speed (Maybe) and\or something via the 1.04 patch. Hope this helps someone having same issue and maybe a idea to try.
IF OB reads this, PLEASE add a dedicated LAN solution and enable households w\o fiber to play in a MP games on a local LAN.
