  1. I was a huge fan of DS1 but wasn't intrigued by DS2. What follows is my opinion as a gamer and a software developer (not a game developer though)... Knowing DS1 and where that came from - I am strictly coming from the point at which how would we update DS1 to make it amazing for today's gamer based on what's available now in today's games. Most Important Request Square Enix(FFXIII) - thanks to the partnership, I desire/nearly demand that paradigm shifting from FFXIII be part of DS3. Imagine being able to create your main character, go through the main story, etc all by yourself. Imagine also being able to go through the multiplayer portion with other characters that you've created (including your main character) where you can use paradigm shifting to make combat time decisions. Alright, now envision two (or more) people getting together with a max party size of maybe six game characters to run through the multiplayer story together. You now have the power you need, with the friends you want, and you get to level all your characters at once. I also like that all characters have access to all roles in FFXIII, how awesome would it be to have characters that could have two or three classes to paradigm shift between? These points alone that I have referenced to my friends has got them so excited that even the ones that don't have an xbox are starting to save up and those that do have an xbox are delaying their purchases of other games in favor and anticipation of this game. No leveling up of equipment though (from FFXIII)!!! I like the old - you must be this level to use this weapon/eq. Side Requests Dragon Age Origins - the latest in the realm of RPGs related to Dungeon Siege. Quick commands and party member switching was pretty well done. The story and its endless dialog options that required hours and hours of play made it not as fun to play. Also, you had to read into the options a lot with really no way of redeeming yourself once you made a mistake (perhaps setting a immoral/moral role at the start would have better suggestions as you move through the story). Modern Warfare 2 - ok, an FPS appearing in relation to DS3, am I serious? Sure - get in a prestige mode. Perhaps you trade in your levels to add another class to a character or increase the number of characters you can create. What about being able to cycle through some of the different armor/weapon looks to trade textures so you can build up how your character is dressed? Ex. That helmet looks totally cool, but it has such lame stats - I want the awesome stats on this dumb looking helmet to be on the cool looking helment! Learn a lesson from MW2 - the multiplayer mode doesn't have to have an amazing story - DS1 was exactly this. Just get something repetitive with good gameplay where friends can get together, bash monsters together, and show off their equipment/characters to each other. Bottom Line I have a lot more feedback and am even willing to talk to any of the devs in case they want to discuss these points. I'll say it again, these points alone that I have referenced to my friends has got them so excited that even the ones that don't have an xbox are starting to save up and those that do have an xbox are delaying their purchases of other games in favor and anticipation of this game.
