  1. my top 10 consists mostly of games i played around 10 years ago. and with all the things that happened in my life still after 10 years still replay on a regular basis. after a couple of years without a pc i felt the itch again. i replayed these games in the last 4 months: system shock 2 (looks and works awesome with the new mods) deus ex ( last time i played it for the first time i saved my brother). baldur's gate 1 (just finished it for the first time with easytutu and a handfull of other mods recommended on the easytutu homepage, i liked the banter. but my high point was the level design on durlag's tower, so much details in those handmade backgrounds) starcraft with the broodwar expansion(of all the games listed the game i've played most. i'm really frustrated about this game at the moment because i can't find a map i used to love playing on. a 256x256 map with the jungle tileset, non-symmetrical. a normal land map with 3 "island" expansions) kotor i like scifi. and i like swords. replayed it a month ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. icewind dale 1 with expansions lovely music, lovely graphics. not much more to say. planescape torment this game is the reason i check out this website now and then these days. whats to say, great dialogue, lovely graphics. replayed it with a widescreen mod and i must say it looked awesome on my 22 inch widescreen monitor. half life with expansionswho doesn't know gordon freeman? can't wait for black mesa! pod(planet of death)futuristic racegame that came out in 1998. you had to win to buy yourself a ticket out of a dying moon of jupiter! mods and enhancement patches keep this game alive even on windows 7 64 bit. long live the internet. baldur's gate 2no explanation needed. never played fallout 1/2 cause of the adult content i heard about them. maybe there's a mod which blocks it
  2. Just found SCP? Well I can say that your christmas starts early this year! It's awesome, if your PC can handle it. I loved it as well. Brilliant work and so polished(by mod standards)! My PC runs it quite smoothly( an 64 bit amd with an raedon 4650). I've done a couple of mission now, i like how you enter the training simulator to learn new things. The level of detail is amazing. I've also ordered the orange box( thanks for the tip). it only costed 12,50 euro's!
  3. Still continuing on my "old" game quest. I found a opensource project for freespace2, trying to get it to work right now.
  4. Thanks for the tips. I just finished playing system shock 2 and it was awesome. Especially the first 3 decks. There's something about those cargo bays... The mods make the game look crispy again. All the panels look crispy clean( except for the occaisional blood stains) Anyway i'm going to to continue to play some of the games that have been collecting dust too long: Games played so far since i bought my new comp: Dead Space( this game made me forget about buying new games and replay old games). (took me 7 hours to complete) Icewind dale with heart of winter and trials of the luremaster. Awesome experience. I love the music and beautiful backgrounds. I played it with 4 characters to give my fighter/mage to the high level spells. For the first time i used a ranger->druid character wich was quite fun. With a +4 spear he made up my front line. (aprox. 30 hours) KOTOR: I love scifi. I love rpg's. enough said. played it for the second time and it was (aprox 20 hours). A couple of months ago i rewatched the movies. Replaying the game made me realize i found it more fun then watching the actual movies. System Shock 2. Some people say the game is imbalanced because you won't have access to the high level weopons/psi skills until later in the game. Not to forget weapon maintenance and fear of weopon jams. After replaying the game this "imbalances" are what makes the game as creepy. The game forces you to use the wrench a lot on the lower decks which adds a lot to the fear factor of the game. Games waiting for me to replay: KOTOR2. Does someone have a link to good mods for this game? I found a link to a mod site all it said was the mods aren't finished yet. PS:Torment. Already downloaded the appropriate mods. It's been 8 years or so since i played this game. Can't wait to replay it. NWN: I have the original lying here. Didn't really like the single player campaign. I suppose that's why i never bothered to get the expansions and NWN2. Starcraft: Broodwar. I downloaded a digital copy using my cd-key which is great btw. Problem is can't get sound working on windows 7. Total Annihilation with expansions. I love my strategy games. Games i'm considering buying: Mass Effect(heard some conflicting stuff about this one) Dragon Age( not sure yet, since i heard bioware teamed up with ea....) Bioshock( after replaying system shock and reading irrational games developed it i might give it a ago) All in all i have some good times ahead of me i think, if anyone knows something about must have kotor2 mods let me know.
  5. i replay system shock 2 and deus ex just about once a year. so i recommend those two, in that order! go now and enjoy! i managed to get system shock 2 working including some great mods from this website: ss2 mods had no problem getting it to work under windows 7. you need a little bit of time to get the hang of installing mods but it's not that hard once you know how to work with the "ss2 mod manager" which you can download from that site. for example you can get new looks for the laser weapon with the the weapon mod:
  6. i'll go and see if i can get system shock 2 running on windows 7, wish me luck. pod has a lot of sentimental value for me. it stands for "planet of death" and its a surrealistic racing game released in 1997. it came free with the the "new" pentium mmx systems in those days. my father had bought me a personal computer so i could use it for my "study". well i'm not really into racing games but that game soaked up many many hours of mine. check the movie:
  7. Hello peoples I just finished playing KOTOR and just before that icewind dale 1. I haven't played them for quite some time now and i can tell you, i love those games. I bought a personal computer just to play some of those dustcollectors. I'm having difficulty choosing the next game i want to play. i have bg1, bg2, kotor2, ps:t, freelancer, ff7, system shock2, deus ex, nwn, pod.....(if i can get any of them running under windows 7 64 bit that is). kotor did crash occasionally. icewind ran perfectly. i've also been considering buying mass effect or maybe dragon age when it comes out but i'm not sure yet.. long live the oldies
