NG+ Armour Upgrading
Shawn Spencer replied to Pigeon_Chest's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
These forums are so dead it seems like only a small handful of people even read them. -
Ng+1 Milk Molars
Shawn Spencer replied to Shannon Wild's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Also worth noting - it's not really worth getting -all- of them, since the food/water upgrades are mostly superflous. -

You check high up on the fences? Also, using handy gnat is a good way to find them without having to build, since he can go anywhere. -
Honestly, it's kinda apparent NG+ wasn't really properly tuned. Raw science becomes far more needed and at the same time much harder to get in quantity. You can still kill Widows in Waft Emitter raids, but now they're significantly more difficult to kill, and yet award the exact same amount of raw science they did in base game. Infused creatures also become harder each NG, but at the same time, they still only give 3k raw science each. If they're 70% more difficult(purely going by HP) each NG+, they should also award 70% more raw science, at a minimum. Science cones become more common, but because there isn't a way to customize them(or their counterpart), your odds of getting a specific one you want are still abysmally small. Bosses get harder, but don't really provide any additional rewards until NG+4, and going past NG+4 provides no additional incentives at all. Like what's the point of even trying to kill IBM or other optional bosses until NG4? We get two termite kings, but....why even bother with them at all? Farming bosses is also pointless since the upgrade material they provide is so little compared to the time/effort of farming them. The idea of risk VS reward is that more difficult encounters are supposed to award increasing amounts of loot/science/etc. But right now it's the opposite, in that it's actually far better to grind as much as you can in the base game because it becomes exponentially slower to do so later on.

Right now farming is -terribly- inefficient in every single way possible. If you play with family/kids and use a lot of healing smoothies, this is a severe detriment to gameplay.(especially since a world does not provide MORE ingredients as a result of more players, so you have 4 people using the same stuff 1 person gets) 1 - You only get around 2-3x what you put in, and then one has to be used for replanting. 2 - You have to manually plant, fertilize, and harvest, every single crop, every single time. It's actually easier to just go out and get stuff, literally. Could we just hire Burg.L for this? 3 - Farming takes up a huge amount of space for what little you get out of it. 4 - It takes a MASSIVE amount of fertilizer for a very small benefit. 5 - It's not really how farming works for most things, but especially mushrooms. You don't harvest the entire plant, you just harvest what's on it, and it grows again. The base of a mushroom still stays in the ground. The same would apply to the muscle sprouts.

So, for those of us who actually love strategy and aren't as strong in the hand-eye coordination department, Science cones/Glowbasa Neck represent a great source of implementing strong strategies, especially for groups. However, as it stands right now, science cones just represent save-scumming for literally hours and hours in hopes of getting a cone that's actually usable strategically. I'd rather spend more time actually hunting for rarer cones, than reloading over and over and over....nobody actually LIKES save-scumming, they only do it out of necessity because realistic alternatives aren't available. There are, as currently, 209,934 combinations of science cones. Which means your odds of getting the one you actually want, is 1 in 209,934. As to which attributes really shouldn't be on them - 1 - Any named bosses, because "Boss damage" makes them all obsolete 2 - +damage to anything other than Black Widows. Nobody needs +orb weaver or +ant damage(better yet add black widows to bosses and ditch that one too) 3- minor/major(besides threat), simply because they're inferior to "best" and thereby obsolete 4 - Friendly fire attributes, because these literally do nothing at all for the standard game setup, where friendly fire is turned off by default. 5 - Aphkid, dust/gas guard, sizzle immunity, food generation, hauling strength, hunger/thirst rate, invincible attack/shielding, victory feast - these should all be reserved for waffles/crinkles, not cones, simply because they're only going to be rarely equipped. This still leaves a considerable amount of randomness left for the cones, but at least they wouldn't have attributes which have no benefit whatsoever.

I'm trying to farm raw science with waft emitters, but everywhere I put one I just run into massive pathing/spawning issues. I don't know why the bugs have to spawn SOOOOO far away from the emitter, but it makes it so the majority of the time they either never find it, or take a very long time to do so. I've tried - In the Sandbox, west wall. Near the MIX.R to the far east. Near the main water pool. On top of the deck. They always have so many glitches. One time during the fight I literally got launched from the west all all the way to the IBM for no reason. This feature just seems riddled with bugs, and not the good kind.

Just an idea for a new biome or sub-biome in the yard. An outside Air conditioner condenser unit that's frozen over, that would introduce a cold/ice/snow area, thus allowing for the usage of cold-weather clothing, snow/ice shoes, as well as the collection of snow/ice and possibly rust/mechanical parts/etc. Also, these often attract mice/rats that live inside of them too, for a new type of enemy. Also - just in case it wouldn't fit, frozen over window air conditioners are a thing too, and there's a window near the hedge that doesn't really have much in front of it, and the hedge itself could be a platform up to the AC unit.

Like, it's really really hard to light up our bases currently. I can hang a firefly suspended light, and....it doesn't even light up the floor if it's 2 stories up. Other lights aren't much better, only lighting up an extremely tiny area around them, and with almost zero Z-axis reach. I don't care if it takes more resources, even charcoal, I'd really like to be able to make my base nice and bright.

Do Black Widows respawn?

Also, one way you can get close to it, is to use resource tracking on widow venom or fangs. -
Do Black Widows respawn?
Shawn Spencer replied to Shawn Spencer's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
The entrance is a bit tricky, it's kinda south-east of the Car Battery, and it's a hole in the ground in the side of a small overhang that has a rock blocking it's entrance that you need to blow up. (The rock is tucked into the hole) Inside is a cavern, and in the cavern is a hole that you can drop into that drops right down to where the widow is. -
For one of the most difficult sets of gear in the game to complete, the set bonus is so.....useless, honestly. Like the only time I am worried about my movement speed is when I am traveling from one area to another, in which case I am not killing things. Movement speed in combat isn't super meaningful, and the only time it might apply is large boss fights....which I would only gain the bonus after the boss dies. Please rethink this one. I can't imagine ever seeing a use for it other than like ONE circumstance - the Mixr defense event. If the movement speed bonus were permanent that'd be great, but as-is it's super weak compared to other set bonuses. Especially considering it's like....about 5 seconds. That's hardly enough time to consider where I am going next.

Do Black Widows respawn?
Shawn Spencer replied to Shawn Spencer's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I found there are actually 4 of them total. And from what I can tell, they do respawn....but only if all of them are dead, and only ONE will respawn at a time, and it's random which one it is. -
I've already killed the 3 I could find, and it's been more than a few days in-game and haven't seen them again. The widowlings have respawned, but not the big ones. Considering how rare venom is, I still don't even have enough to make a Widow dagger yet.

Since starting up the game after(last played 2 patches ago), having major overheating when playing. I'm running a 3080 card and Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700K CPU, and the CPU hit 115c in my last session(that's one where it actually didn't crash, only played about 20 mins). My PC is water-cooled and not that old, and I've removed dust from it. Any idea what's going on? It's mostly the CPU getting hot more so than the GPU.

So, after my daughter having an issue using Multiplayer for several months on her computer, I finally fixed the issue. By creating a new Microsoft account to log in with. That's literally all it took. Not sure why, but using her other account always gave errors when trying to join or create a game, even though it worked previously. Just thought I'd throw this out there for anyone having problems. Error we got when joining game shown in picture. Got a different error for when trying to host. "There was an issue trying to host a multiplayer game".

I played throughout 0.2, but tried in 0.3 it didn't work either. Everything I've tried has yet to work. -

Tried Forwarding all the recommended ports for her, didn't seem to do anything. Also made sure the game is allowed to bypass the Firewall. Also, the exact message she gets is "The Game you are Trying to join no longer exists". -
Getting this issue whenever my daughter tries to join my multiplayer game, through the game itself or directly through steam. We're in the same household. She's using Windows 10, I'm using Windows 7. She can't host any games either, says to check her connection. We were originally able to play just fine a few months ago, consistently.

Just to state off the bat, I'm aware of creative mode. But some people like building and challenge both. So anyway, a few nice additions/suggestions... 1 - A mutagen that increases carrying capacity of stems/grass. 2 - Pallets that hold considerably more stems/grass. Right now they hold so few. 3 - Pallets that allow construction of walls/etc directly from the bed. This would give them an actual purpose outside of just aesthetic, since laying weeds/grass directly on the ground works just as well currently.
