  1. Okay, so, any solutions? Not an answer but more of an explanation. http://forums.obsidian.net/index.php?showt...rt=#entry923264 Try do a search on the forum with your graphics card, might lead to more info. Kinda in the same boat as you. I have different onboard intel card. I can get into the game and move slightly, but it'll crash when I rotate my camera, I'm thinking there's an object in thegame that the card isn't compatable with. I definatly can't start it up from the beginning, only from certain save points I took from my other computer. Sorry mate, not really good news
  2. Hope it works. Maybe post the rest of your specs. I'm not a computer tech, but I'm sure it'll help someone else narrow down the issue you're having. I've read that having dual cores or something like that can cause issues and they recommond useing only one, that is if you have 2.(?) Maybe try downloading the crack(since you own it I assume that's not an issue), and see if that helps.
  3. I'm not sure if this will help, I had a similar problem in KOTOR 1 on kyashhk,(however it's spelt) though it was after I had my visions of the star map and the conversation with bastilla. Basically I'd travel to the new planet, land and then the screen would go black, but I could hear the music playing. What I had to do was, in the auto launcher was open the configuration and disable my sound and videos.(I think it was a sound issue but try both anyhow). Maybe it'll work. If it does, then you can save once you get off, quit and change your sound settings back on and play from there. Hope it works.
  4. 1) Not sure what that is? 2) Yeah, I downloaded a manual patch and installed it. 3) I updated the video one, didn't think about audio. It should be up to date, but I'll try that next. 4) Yup. If I can get it to launch properly, everything runs fine. For the windows xp compatibility method, here's one way http://forums.obsidian.net/index.php?showt...48&hl=vista They say you don't have to install it useing the windows xp method, though I did and it worked. For me, I put the first cd and canceled the auto play. Then I explored it, right clicked the setup file, went to properties, then in properties I went to the compatibility tab. In there I checked the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for ... " in the drop down menu I selected Windows XP. Then down at the bottom I selected "Run this program as an administrator". After doing all that I clicked ok and ran the setupfile and worked from there. Once it was installed, I updated the game and then on the short cut, I right clicked it and went to it's properties, and performed the same properties adjustments as I did to the setup file. From there it worked fine. That's for me though, I've read of so many different issues that present themself as the same thing. I'd try and do the simple things first before doing a complete reinstall. Maybe try doing just the short cut "Run as XP" method first. Have you also tried replacing the Mss32.dll file(It's found in the root folder of KOTOR2). Also, maybe try opening the auto launcher and going to the configuration, and trying to disable your sound and your movies, and setting everything to its lowest graphical settings. There's a couple more things you can try before doing a full reinstall, Ill try and dig them up. What graphics card are you useing by the way?
  5. I've had issues with it running in vista too, though not like that. Mind if I ask a few questions? Did you install it and are running with windows xp compatibility method? Have you updated your game? Are all your video and audio drivers up to date? Can you play the game once it loads properly or does it crash inside?
  6. Well im figureing that, but im curious as to what specifically it's having a issue with, and if there is a way around it.
  7. Hi again. Haven't found anything new myself but I can give a bit more detail. I loaded my save file on gogo's ship, and rescued, myself. I cleared all the rooms and am in a smaller room. I can rotate the camera about 200 degrees to the right, but then it will crash. If I rotate it to the left though, it will crash after about 10 degrees rotation. Strange eh. I've just tried moving about and I'm starting to think it is something in the room rather that is making it crash rather than the rotation. Some save files I have will just crash once they are loaded, where as this one doesnt. Maybe I saved the one that loads in a spot where I'm viewing objects that can load properly, as opposed to others. Ive read that KOTOR 2 as opposed to KOTOR 1 has some new lighting or software feature that certain graphics cards aren't compatible with. Though, in that case I thought 3d-analyze was supposed to deal with that or something.
  8. Found this. Don't know if it works and it apparently is a compliation of other peoples work but worth a shot i guess. Id just copy all your save files just incase it buggers up. http://forums.obsidian.net/index.php?showt...p;hl=swoop+race
  9. I think there is a glitch with the game that if you forfit once the game will make out that youve forfitted everytime even if you complete the course. I donno if there is a fix to this though. Sucks eh
  10. Hi there. I hope someone can give me a hand with getting KOTOR 2 to work, or explaining why I can't. I've been trying time and again to get this game to work on my laptop because I'm giving up the desktop that can run KOTOR2. So here's my problem(s) with the laptop. First off, I'm using vista. Had an issue with that, got passed that. I can get into the main menu, I can see the sith character off to the side, I can start a new game and watch the intro video, but then it crashes. Giving me the dreaded kotor2 has stopped working from vista. Right, so then I updated the game, updated my drivers and am useing 3d analyze, added the line in the kotor2.ini file, moved the mss32 from kotor 1 to 2 and have everything on the lowest settings. I then moved my saved files from the desktop to the laptop, and tried loading from where I left off. To my surpize, it worked. Somewhat. I can see my guys, I can make him run up and down, but when I shift my camera angle, the game destroyes the very essence of joy i had in that moment with the kotor2 has stopped working. Anyhow, so yep. I'm at a loss. I don't know much about computers but that sounds like a graphics card issue, though I don't quite get why it can load and let me move, oh and let me use force powers and wave my lightsabers about, but when I shift my camera angle it deciedes to bugger out. My specs are, Vista 2 gig ram Genuine intelĀ® CPU t1600 @ 1.66ghz Direct x 9 - - and the kicker.. - Mobile IntelĀ® 4 series Express Chipset Family With 3d Analyze i'm only using the option "Emulate HW TnL caps" if anyone has any thoughts I'd like to hear them. Not everyday I play a game I really enjoy and im really enjoying this one. Well, was. Thanks for reading
