  1. I've ran into a snag as far as quest creation. If I've read my tutorial sources correctly, I need to make a varialbe script to have an npc give my pc a quest. I have read through a tutorial about scripting and it covers alot of things for NWN2. The one thing it doesnt cover is scripting a mission for pc's to accept or refuse. Anyone have a link to something that has more depth to it's instruction.
  2. Never got into Dark Sun that much, nor did I like Spelljammer. (Plz dont bring that back!!!) Greyhawk was and still is the grandfather of um all. Dragonlance, ... yea. Forgotten Realms is great too, but rehashed to much. Eberron, cant stand it. Only reason I play DDO is because it's the only D&D based MMo out there, hate WoW. If they were to make another D&D MMO, I'd like to see it in either Greyhawk or (yes here it comes) Faerun. Just for the fact that both of those have pretty good areas and much more suited for MMO play. Of course, they could always do something like SWG and make it to where you could D-Door from one world to the other. That would be nice, both for PnP and Digital. One quest may take places in Greyhawk, but ties into something in DS, then ends up in Ravenloft. Whoa, thats actually kind of disturbing nvm, lol.
  3. I was going to school for GA&D up until recently and a lot of us asked this same question to speakers and instructors. Most said the same thing that the General said. They would look over a portfolio before a degree. I want to be a level designer, so I went out and bought games that had the tools or were releasing them. Guess it would work the same way for the cut scenes and such. Using flash or making cut scenes for games you already have would be good practice for your writing skills, just my opinion.

    GURPs

Star Frontiers, wow i loved that game. not as much as Shadowrun, but still. Back to the OPs statement about GURPS, I used GURPS for about a month when it first came out. Found it was just as easy making my rules up for anything generic I tried to create. Trust me, my friends and I would get really creative. I drew the line when one of them showed up with an outline for a GI Joe and a Transformer RPG. Thats when I went back to D&D, and hid lol.
  5. Well so far no screenies of areas yet, still working on particulars and doing PnP maps for the areas before I start mapping them to detail. However, here is a listing of the areas that I'm eventually gonna cover: Tilverton (3 exteriors, 2 interiors, and 1 mini cave), Rode to Shadowdale (nuff said there), Shadowdale (1 exterior, 2-3 interiors), Dagger Hills, Border Forest, and Dragonspine Foothills (all random encounter areas. May put in a few sideline quests in these areas), Dagger Falls (1 exterior, 2-3 interiors), Snowmantle (2 exteriors, 3-4 interiors which includes a large cavern), Fortress Crypt of MaHa'Dul (well that is the big one, so I'm gonna keep that to my self atm). Since I'm officially in lay-off status, I have plenty of time to work on them, plus I had to withdraw from school so no distractions from that . Hopefully I'll have some screenies by next Monday.
  6. Thanks for the link I found lots of stuff I was looking for, even made my first successful convo
  7. Didnt know where else to post this but here it goes. I read thru the post here and glad I found a good modding communitte for this game. I just started playing around with the tool set and picking up on it rather quickly. Still having problems with scripting and conversations, but I'm hoping to have that hacked out within the next week or so. Anywho, I'm working on a campaign series called The Lich of Dragonspine. Right now the jump off point is Toliver, where you'll head north towards Dragonspine Mts. Mixing in lots of variables, and trying to push the tools to their limit, I hope. If anyone can pass along any knowledge on anything involving the tool set, I would greatly appreciate it. Still kinda learning, but like I said, I'm hopeful :/
