I actually came here to report the same thing, although I'm not nearly as far through the game as the OP. I have the same issue, however, in that Parvati's 'date' quest auto-failed on me. I've updated to today's patch -- also Riel 1.1.1.387 -- to no effect. I suppose the key difference between myself & the OP is that I'm playing the PC version of this game. If there are specific instructions to get this quest to fire, it might be a good idea to post them clearly somewhere.
