Try going into settings, turn fullscreen to window mode and set the resolution a little lower than max. Once the map loads, set everything back to fullscreen/max resolution. It's not a brilliant fix but I've managed to get passed all previous map crashes. This is something the devs need to fix. What's most puzzling is when my game crashed the cpu, gpu and memory usage was very low..

There isn't any option to disable auto save but after a bit of thinking i tried disabling fullscreen and put it in a small window which fixed the issue. After putting back to full screen and max resolution the crashes come back.

At the moment i cannot continue with the main mission. After exiting the ship and selecting party members, Byzantium starts to load for a few seconds then just crashes to desktop. Not sure how to fix this.. its not the only place its happened, trying to revisit edgewater is the same.
