Why is the entire Internet talking about this game? I thought it was just another installment in just another FPS series that gets milked every year, but people say it can become the best-selling game of all time and whatnot. It's just weird.
-
I really like what they did to bosses, compared to the first Sigma. None of them have any invincibility frames, and, as long as you're good at timing counters and Reverse Winds, you can dish out damage pretty much constantly. Contrast with the Alma rematch.
-
Thought I'd share it with you.

This game has a Broken Sword feel about it...
Just like Gabriel Knight, except crap?
-
The game itself is p. good, but by supporting Steam (or any other digital distribution service) you support the Antichrist.
-
Just how srs and grimdark is this game? Light-hearted atmosphere (and OH MY GOD SIMON TEMPLEMAN ALLCAPS) is the main reason I enjoyed the original game, so it's a potential deal-breaker for me.
-
Has BioWare ever made a traditional game? Even Baldur's Gate was the new **** of its time with next-gen RTwP combat and whatnot.
-
What the hell, Jaesun?
Anyway, the only piece of advice I can give you is this: stay the **** away from Enchanted Arms. I was tricked into buying it because the game was made by From Software of Armored Core and Demon's Souls fame, and it turned out to be one of the worst purchases I've ever made. The combat could be the EA's saving grace, but it was ****ed up by having way too much filler encounters, bad art direction and only one battle theme. A particularly bad battle theme, I should add.

Risen looks awful.
No.
EDIT: Well, the 360 version does.

The traders really do not have ANY gold
I'm pretty sure that they do have gold. Infinite amounts of it, as a matter of fact.
Anyway, I'm in Chapter 2 right now, and so far it's the best PB's game. They kept everything that was good about Gothic and fixed the only thing that was less-than-good: combat.

I'm officially gay for lord of flies. Seriously, that was the best preview yet.

Folklore has an amazing
.EDIT: And still no mention of
? Shame. -
Please don't mess up Moscow.
[rant]They have already done so, I'm afraid. I haven't seen this much snow in Russia for about 5 years. The temperature didn't even drop below -10

Replaying Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Very Hard broke me on my last attempt, but I'm determined to conquer Master Ninja this time.
-
Never having played any of them I laugh at the newer Ninja Gaidens and also at Devil May Cry. Japanese stuff is pretty funny.
More importantly, they have actual depth when it comes to combat mechanics.
EDIT: Grammar were the bit wrong;
-
It's on top of the class if you like quick time events.
Fixed. God of War doesn't come close to the holy trinity of Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry (yes, even DMC 4) and God Hand. Hell, even River City Ransom did combat better, and that was in the days of NES.
-
Did someone here just imply that God of War is anything other than a huge pile of donkey crap? Because it totally isn't.
-
I'm sure you could have fun with some newer ones though, like Mirror's Edge, Prince of Persia or something like Ratchet and Clank.
I could. In fact, I did. Now I want something more traditional.
If you want oldschool platformers download a SNES/NES/Gameboy/N64 emulator. This does seem to be the only option. Thanks for the feedback, everyone! I guess the thread can be put to rest.
-
Thanks for the suggestions, but that's not quite what I'm looking for. Both LBP and Trine revolve around gimmicky physics puzzles. What I want is a straightforward platformer, as old-school as they can possibly get.
-
And by good I mean challenging. Something like Crash Bandicoot 2: hard, but fair.

Summoning spells, please.

Mainly because they took two of the most powerful things you can do, and beat them so hard with the nerfbat that they're useless. Your lightsaber (supposed to cut through ANYTHING) takes 5 hits to down a standard opponent, and then your force powers are usually negated somehow on enemies.
Reminds me of those two KotOR games. Sweet Jesus, is that really what pissed people off? The PC not being an unstoppable engine of destruction that kills everything in one hit? I thought stormtroopers posing an actual threat was an improvement over Jedi Knight where blaster wielding enemies simply did not stand a chance against Kyle. The Force Unleashed reminded me that Force users are just mortals who don't wear any armor and must make use of their enviroment when they are outnumbered.
That Star Destroyer sequence was the most annoying thing I've ever played. You actually had to ignore the ingame arrows to complete it.Not exactly. What confused a lot of people is that "move an analogue stick upwards" looks very similar to "leave an analogue stick in neutral position". Your point still stands, though. That particular bit could have been done a lot better.

This is getting ridiculous.
