if you're playing on God Mode you can stomp through (almost?) everything so long as you have all 3 physical damage types. since you've got 2 weapon sets, one versatile weapon and something that has the other physical damage type should work, like dual wielding swords in set 1 and maces in set 2.

All classes will be viable in God Mode, but Rogues and Monks would probably dish out the most damage in terms of weapon abilities.

You mean a Helwalker/Assassin combo? also what skills are good on monk. I'd prefer for a low micromanaging build. Do you have any special weapons to recommend?

  2. Hello,

I'm looking for a build that preferably has a sword paired with other weapon perhapse a pickaxe or a mace? I am going to cheat and will have god mode on meaning HP etc. is not an issue, unless there i an effective lifesteal build? I will be using the exact same build for the entire party and I just want to see them swamp through people.  Which classes do I combine etc.? Looking for melee weapons here. Also I will just copy the weapons and armor you recommend times five with the cheat engine to make them look like a unit. A cool looking two handed weapon like a sword would also fit if that's easier to come up with.

The Race I'll be using are: Mountain Dwarf, Pale Elf, Island Aumaua, Hearth Orlan & Nature Godlike Human.

    Thanks in advance!

Ok, so let's recap what could be a Themed Party :

Same Race : but that doesn't play a big role in gameplay. Maybe godlikes ?

Same Class, with possibly different multiclass

Similarly themed class : the most interesting option :
    - A
cult of the bear could mix either Bear Ranger or Bear Druid
    - Sneaky party could have Rogues, Beguilers, Priest of Skaen
    - God themed party : Woedica cult can have Priest of Woedica, Steel garrote Pally

Themed with different roles but united by a common  patern :
    - 5 men party based on Magic the Gathering 5 colors ?
    - 5 men party based on 4 elements +... shadow ?

What would you play as see it as if u got to play a 5 man party in wow by yourself or a moba. 5 characters one controller namely you!

  4. SSS is my favorite dlc by far. Mainly because you get some creative fights(especially when entering underlvled). But a thing I love is the themed parties or packs you face in the contest of Seeker etc. Like 5 ciphers named the quiet five. If you had to make a 5 man party with a common theme and name. How would you name each individual, how would you name each team, and how would you build them?

I know there are a lot of creative people on here, so I'm curious what you can come up with.

Builds can be just for fun stuff you enjoy. Also I know there will at least be one 5x Herald comment so there you go.

Regarding silence: I think a cipher or shieldbearer could also fit this. Also priest of Scaen.

Yes. My main character is partially based on my internal personality, but with a few additional shifts:

    - one towards being more stoic, quick and steedfast . Plus feeling slight satisfaction and bittersweet every time I do resort to using force, provided that diplomacy and jokes have failed. I treat the character as basically immortal, and do opt for a strong combat build, so it's smirk and carnage.

    - being more inclined towards world exploration, and getting into the right place at the wrong time

    - depending on class, the character may be felt as bit more sly, academic, furious, erudite, inventive, etc.

Honestly I have an entire detailed document dedicated to self analysis. Trying to understand and be aware of both strengths and weaknesses and to accentuate the strengths ofcourse.

Most mature post of today - and I guess at least of the whole next week, too.

Not that I generally dislike immature stuff... just saying. ;)

Facts don't lie and i think its important to admit one's own ignorance and mistakes when faced with them, it seperates us from the stubborn racism, sexism etc. Also it's important to set the right example, especially since certain gaming communities moba, shooters etc have a rather toxic attitude and atmosphere.

Thanks for starting this thread, Mike, and sharing your experience and approach. I appreciate learning how others think about creating characters and how personal that is for most of us.

I create characters based on a play style preference that is a reflection of my personality (more defensive and passive oriented with lower micro and risk needed), and I usually end up making choices from a similar place - benevolent, rule following, trying for the best outcome, looking for harmony between all competing interests. It's been fun to try on characters that make different choices, but that takes some work and sometimes is hard to sustain. I have also appreciated some of the challenge PoE has given my instincts. There is never a "right" path that is without compromise or conflict. Siding with the Huana my first play through of Deadfire was a great experience to frustrate that instinct in me.

RE: Multiple Personality Disorder - my .02 based on some reading and personal relationships with therapists and clinicians - personality disorders are very complicated and are usually critically different than what you see represented in media (and most common diagnoses are not represented much - like Borderline Personality Disorder). The clinical diagnosis that most closely resembles multiple personality disorder is Dissociative Identity Disorder, and it's controversial, but there isn't as much a debate on if the person is really having an experience or not, more so how to accurately describe what's actually happening for folks diagnosed with this.

It basically says that you can determine if somebody fakes that disorder or not - with neurobiology.

You two have definately given me a huge update and a lot to read to confront my own ignorance perhaps. Thank you to the both of you for enlightening me on this subject. I will definately look into the matter more closely.

Part of me thinks the next step would be becoming strong enough that you no longer really need 'to close' as a defensive mechanism, and neither block your feelings (unless you want it at that moment).

It reminds me of: for different tasks - different tools may be more suiting.

For a creative task you want to be more creative/inventive. For deep analysis - more thoughtful. For emergency - faster-thinking, as a faster half-working solution might be better than a good solution which is too late.

It's a nice ability if you can shift between them, and remain in the Flow if needed.

Well, I was curious, why do you need those builds. Since it's mildly interesting what drives people, if they have less-usual preferences. Now I know.

I can not always control them fully but the parts prefer different things like ocd side likes math and anything number related(hencewhy i rarely ever forget an important number).
I don't think that this harsh world will ever make not need a mode to turn off emotions to protect myself. Too much bad in this world mate. All 5 parts of my personality are needed and work in unison kind of on a rotating wheel. Sometimes they start on themselves because of tasks I need to do or sometimes I can initiate them by starting to do something that suits the personality parts talents.

Schizophrenia and Multiple Personality Disorder are two completely different things.

Both are very real things though.

I find schizophrenia more believable than multiple personality disorder since in the psychological circles the original "proof" is still a bit vague and being regarded as a therapist and a patient teaming up to make money while it not actually being true. Also I find it hard to prove and hard to believe that someone can split into sometimes up to 20 different personalities. How would you ever prove that? If you know some facts that I don't do tell me. I can be sold on schizophrenia but not on multiple personality disorder. I studied psychology for 1,5 year so I know a little bit about some facts but by far not all. Would love to hear anything I missed though?

I'd like to think it has made me stronger it made part of me a survivor that blocks out own feelings and emotions so that I can be strong for others when they need me. Especially useful in tough situations like the death of a relative etc.

I think trauma has divided my personality in 5 parts (modes more like it I don't believe schizophrenia is a real thing) all with their own uses and in every game I always try to reproduce the same 5 just different races genders etc.(to make it more RPG like). This might be why i've probably annoyed most of you with my spamming of starting threads int his forum.

You sound more like  Fury Shaper Barbarian since they are defined by past trauma. That would combine the directness you mentioned as well as the trauma.

Note that Goldpact Knights have aggressive and passionate as disfavoured reactions, which might conflict with your stated impulsiveness.

OCD is for one character. And Impulsiveness for another. So that I can feel familiar with an entire party and without them all being the same exact character.

  11. Hello,

I always like to RP more than finding the most effective build or builds. I can't enjoy the game unless I at least see shades of what I would do in Eora in all of my created characters.

I'll give an example, I have a case of so far undiagnosed OCD(obsessive compulsive disorder with a lot of peculiar things) for example I must know where all parts are of a certain puzzle or something and I need to count them daily or that I need to have things in a certain order or fitting a certain type(hencewhy the specific builds I request).

Anyway this fits with the goldpact Paladin.

Then I can become a bit extremely hyper so that I just charge at whatever my impulses tell me this fits a berserker barbarian.

Also i've been bullied about 10 years straight and this made me a bit sad and depressed so whenever I feel sad I become quiet as a rogue for example.

Do any of you have something like this? I am also fond of picking voices that fit the character my favorites are Male: Stoic, Noble & Smooth Female: Sinister & Kind.

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, all bugs should be fixed by now, as 5.0 was to be the final patch. Granted, ongoing playthroughs might be plagued by old bugs which don't get retroactively fixed.

What you missed is this beautiful eldritch shield:
    https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/The_Weyc%27s_Oracular_Focus

Oh well this is why i start so many threads on this forum for new builds to try to get me more into the game. Since I don't like the whole companion thing at all (not obsidian's fault i just generally like to create my own group like family from scratch) everyone here helps me immensely with every comment and idea they share.

I had this bug. Reloading an earlier save fixed it, I think. I might have restarted the entire game as well, can't remember.

    Here you burn the horn.

    Here you erase the book.

PS. You should be able to interact with the brasier even horn is not in your inventory. If you can't, then it is a bug.

Thank you my lovelies, it must be bugged then. What reward do you get for completing this in my case bugged little puzzle? An item or? I had a bug once where i couldn't summon the floating hangman either I hope all bugs will be fixed soon so I can enjoy my game. It already caused me to quit one playthrough it will not deter me from finishing another!

I would consider the following party (with the understanding you want all ciphers):

Cipher (sb) / Fighter (tact) - Primary Tank / Secondary CC / Secondary Damage / Buffs

Cipher (ascendant) / Mage (blood) - Secondary Tank (self buffs) / Secondary CC / Primary Spell Damage

Cipher (beguiler) / Priest (wael) - Secondary Tank (self buffs) / Main CC / Secondary Spell Damage / Secondary Healer

Cipher (ascendant) / Druid (lifegiver) - Primary Healer / Secondary Spell Damage / Support CC

Cipher (sb) / Monk (hel) - Primary CC / Melee and Spell Damage / Buffs

The group has lots of CC, buffs, self-buffs, regenerating resources, and some tankiness...  For stats use Mig: 16-18, Con 8-10, Dex 8-10, Per 16-18, Int 16-18, Res 8-10...  I would suggest weapon and shield until after level 10ish, then use what you want, but I like the extra deflection.  For armor, go as heavy as you can until after level 10ish, then use what you want, but I like heavier.

For Fighter, take, Knockdown, Fighter Stance, Rapid Recovery, Focus, Tactical Barrage, Vigorous Defense, Conquerer, Armored Grace...

For Wiz take a couple buffs, like Spirit Shield, Mirror, and Veil., then take a Grimoire with Damage/CC...

For Priest you have good self buffs and some CC (wael), then supplement some damage spells Pillar of Faith, Shining, Pillar Fire... and 1 or 2 heals... maybe a debuff, but not necessary with CC

For Druid you have good heals (lifegiver), then grab some damage (insects, storms, and some frost/ice)

For Monk take swift furry, thunderous, duality, turning wheel, iron wheel, enervating, heartbeat

Key Cipher spells... mix and match, but helpful for everyone to have at least one buff, two cc, and two damage

CC:  eyestrike, whispers, mental, phantom, secret, puppet, mind plague, ring leader

Damage: mind blades, silent scream, detonate, amplified, disintegrate

    Buffs: pain block, borrowed, ancestors

Go forth, CC, cast damage spells, and have fun.   By level 10ish, you should be unloading 1-2 CC, and 3-4 Damage Spells...  later on (level 16+) just go all damage, since CC just slows you down.

Thank you I am definately going to try this.

I used the Unity Console to spawn 4 other Red Hands. It was hilarious, like a squad of minutemen. With the fighter passives and all with high Athletics I didn't really feel that tight on healing. For tanking I had 5 bears. Yup, standard might per and dex. The playthrough was never finished though due to headcanon issues. The closest thing I guess is getting Red Hand, Dragon's Dowry, Frostseeker? Really any of the good ranged weapons.

Headcanon? Did your game crash because of it or bug?

Did you use the unity console for the markmans armor too?

  16. 10 minutes ago, Jayd said:

That's a lot of healing and tanking but sounds like you might be missing damage - especially boss DPS which has different dynamics to mob killing. It's a good idea to invest in spell casters who can stack reliable damage over time effects. Venombloom is a strong one for Druid, as are the insect spells (but you have to land the hit or they do nothing. Wizards can lay down damaging walls and cast combusting wounds on top for some great damage, as well as cast 'nukes' like missile salvo and meteor swarm. Priest symbol spells have great damage, as well as storm of holy fire.

Also, for bosses that aren't immune to interrupts, interrupting is utterly vital. Neriscyrlas is the prime example. When she gets Llengrath's Safeguard off she becomes extremely hard to damage and possibly impossible to beat. So it must be interrupted. Strip her concentration (Insects do this for as long as the effect lasts) and spam abilities which say they interrupt in their descriptions while the boss is casting (not recovering, but casting) the spell you don't want them to use.

Lock the dragon down with interrupts and have some reliable damage on her and you should be fine.

What do you suggest for a party? Like melee ranged casters to be able to deal with bosses and mobs? I honestly thought my usual build was not the problem.
