it is... awesome.  best in game editing console I have ever seen.

oh, and the devil's breastplate + Helm of the falcon looks really nice on a bleak walker.

try setting your primary color to black, and your secondary to dark red.

I was very pleased with the result.

if we're talking style pale hide+ whitewitch mask looks absolutely amazing, especially on a coastal aumaua

  2. I think the Witcher set a good precedent. I'd mention this alone for the Witcher-Watcher fun, but jokes aside, the Witcher series managed a world, where story and free exploration went hand in hand. Not equally good in every one of the 3 games, but all of them did better than PoE2 imho. Let's take Witcher 3, you look to find Ciri, a girl that's like a daugther to you, while doing that, you have local quarrels to handle(the baron e.g.), bigger things to decide, like who do you support for King or Queen(or whatever the title was) of Skellige, decide on a woman, play certain factions against each other, all the while your search goes on and becomes a fight against the White hunt in the end. The protagonists in the free exploration stuff are often helpful in pursuing your lead on the main quest. And what's more important, you are eager to resolve their matters quickly, cause you wanna return to your search for Ciri.

In PoE2 for me at least it was more of a I explore all the islands and do minor local stuff, and it's fun, but they dont care at all for the giant who stole part of my my soul and who intends to destroy the wheel, they only care about what happens on their respective little island or max 1-2 other small islands where they got a slave trade or an adra pillar or a tribe they wanna kill or whatever and even worse, I don't care about the giant, the intermissions with the gods annoyed me, I had fun exploring the islands, the main quest sucked.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved Pillars 2, but did the end feel like it cut you short at all? I know thematically you were in a time crunch, what with Eothas ripping the wheel a new ****, but would anyone else liked to have actually explored Ukaizo? Unless they plan on making an expansion that takes you back there I'd be *a bit* disappointed.

I totally feel the same way. Seemed like a lot of build up to just click a couple of chat options.

Seems like things were heading towards a three-way race to Ukaizo, with rival gods plotting to destroy Eothas, but then on reaching Ukaizo, there were two or three largely empty maps, then a couple of chat options and straight into epilogue briefing.

Some kind of battle with the rejected factions and/or rival gods' agents preparing to trigger their world-ending-stop-Eothas-plot, would have been nice.

But, that was my first play through on veteran difficulty. With 11 individual classes, 100+ multiclass combinations, not counting subclasses, three factions to choose between (four if you count remaining independent which I did on my first run), and 7 companions with their own storylines to squeeze into four party slots ... lots of replay options, even before DLC.

Now not that I'd say this is enough...but technically there IS a fight against one of the rejected factions after disabling the storm(as suggested in another thread, it might be tied to who you give your copy of the Ukaizo map.)

  4. Empowered Wilting Wind, Empowered Great Maelstrom, Empowered Minoletta's Concussive Missiles(on stacked enemies), try them...they oneshot almost everything on potd. This cannot be intended, and if you tell me it's fun, you're weird. Now of course I could simply not use those spells, or empower, or could fight unarmed and naked on all characters, I could also wear a blindfold while playing, but that doesn't change that it needs to be adjusted. They clearly need to do both, nerf empower a bit and nerf certain combinations that are just very powerful but also adjust difficulties, potd is way too easy.

  5.

    Spoilers ahead:

Side with Ruatai - Maia is their spy, Pallegina their enemy => Pallegina leaves; Also you're asked to kill the Huana leaders => guess Tekehu leaves?

Side with VaIlian trading Company - Pallegina is their bodyguard, Maia works for the opposing faction => Maia leaves

Side with the Huana - gotta blow up the Ruatai powder**** same as VTC => Suppose Maia leaves as well

Side with the Principi - nobody leaves, you take the Ghostship and fight the Huana leaders on Ukuzi or what's it called

Side with nobody - buy a ship, give it the dragon wing sail and the most expensive hull upgrade thing and just sail north when you're main-quest-stage is to follow Eothas to Ukuzi --> nobody leaves

Is there a ''join us'' moment when it comes to the Principi so i can say ''no''? Cause i want to drain any many quests out of these factions as possible without joining any of them.

EDIT: If i decide to join the Principi does nobody leave? You mention you fight some Huana leaders and others mention fighting Ruatai leaders with the Principi, so why does nobody leave during those events?

There is a "I have the Fonferrus and return to Aeldys/Furrante" moment, which is the "join us" point.

If you decide to join the Principi nobody leaves. You then sail through the storm and land on Ukuzi or what's it called and disable the Ondra's mortar/storm. This apparently makes one(! would be interesting to know whether this is random or there's a prerequisite to chose which appears) of the factions you decided against turn up in the city and fight against you. Nobody leaves then, as they start combat with you, not the other way around.

  7. That the side quests don't relate much to the main questline doesn't inherently bother me. What does bother me is that the main questline allowed for hardly any room for side quests to breath, which perhaps gets at part of what bothered you. After arriving in Neketaka it's a straight arrow to Eothas: you always know where to go next to track him, and there's little to no justification to get involved in anything else.

One of the ways they could have fixed this would be what you're hoping for. If they had made Eothas's whereabouts more of a mystery, then searching the islands and seas for him could have been a bigger deal. You could have had to do favors for these factions to either use their resources to help you search, or divulge information they already know.

But Eothas was a gargantuan marching impervious statue with a singular and simplistic goal in mind. Subtlety wasn't in the cards.

This is a narrative mistake most non-linear RPGs have been making for quite awhile. They give you giant worlds to play in but forget the issue of pacing; the main questline constantly urges you forward with all due haste, while the game simultaneously throws mountains of side quests at you without batting an eye. RPGs, especially ones like this, need the main quest written in such a way as to allow for exploration.

I'll spoiler a lot, so dont read on if you haven't finished the game.

I agree with the part about the mystery. Not only are Eothas' whereabouts not a mystery, also his intentions are quite clear from the beginning, and they don't seem evil at all. Most RPGs feature a very prominent antagonist. A huge nemesis to the world, an evil that needs to be destroyed; or if you're into playing evil characters, then they at least stole something significant from you, that lets you tremble, leaves you weak, so that you have only pursuit in mind. Irenicus or the White Hunt come into my mind.

Here the main plot is to get favor with 4 factions, then turn them against each other and ultimately decide for one, to then "find" an island, which is not very well hidden, but all people want to find it, and when you finally prepared enough to get into Eldorado(Cant keep the name, Ukuzi or what it was :D), all you get is a fight against a guard, and not the giant the game made to be the main antagonist. Of Eldorado itself or why it's so sought after, there's little and less to be seen, and the giant who stole part of your soul already gave it back and doesn't fight against you.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the game, I loved some of the quests, and like the item-design, but I most certainly see it as a "narrative mistake" like the guy I quoted. You get to fight 2-3 dragons(if you want to), which is nice, can stop slave-trading if you want to, can kill or succumb to a imp-demon-god, all of which I found really great, but then after this, there should be the ultimate fight, the real challenge, the hardest or most story-relevant fight in the game, but there's not, which I found sad. There's just the "hey, care about those that get stuck in the in-between" - "ok, will do, thanks for pointing out" - "cool, have fun destroying the wheel then"

  8. I got the hearth defender's scale...trying hard to remember where I got it....It's most certainly a quest, and something involving a family(it has family bond ability and I recall that making sense) you have to reunite. pretty certain it's that acolyte of nemnok you gotta rescue, Quest is "Nemnok the devourer", let me know if that was it

got everything except the red hand now too...wondering where that is hidden

btw pale hide + whitewitch mask or serpent crown make for great style :p

  9. Hi

    Fair Warning, there's Quest-Spoilers ahead :p

So Pallegina is searching for Giacolo and after some searching I tracked him to the Runnage house. There I'm posed weird riddles which result in the pirates killing Giacolo...is there a way to avoid that? I haven't found a way to answer so that Giacolo is spared, is there? Afterwards I can attack the pirates, but they run straight for Giacolo and one-shot him, can I avoid that?^^
