  1. attack bonus matters very little if you have attack in the high 30's to low 40's...you will hit even Malak regardless unless you roll a 1.
  2. it was a mistake replace extra sabers with crystals... edit: or just reread my edit.
  3. For the "coolness factor": Double Blade for me, looks awesome, great animations and seems to be the most rare style. I like the flash for sure, but it is also an extremely effective style. I prefer the nontraditional styles. 2 sabers are cool, but I think going one normal saber and one short saber looks dumb. The animations look poor at times, and with 2 sabers it looks extremely dumb seeing my PC carrying the 2 sabers when running and the energy blades are unleashed... Yes, looks to matter for me. Single blade using the 2 handed grib seems a little overkill to me, I mean would it hurt if they let you wield a nearly weightless light saber in one hand sometimes? I agree with the poster that said it looked like he was wielding a baseball bat...just looks bad IMO. And the fact, that EVERYBODY uses it, I'll go with my double bladed sabers. 2 sabers look cool until you start swinging them...then the coolness factor goes downhill. Not to mention running with the blades unleashed. Effectiveness: Double Bladed for aggressive build/power. And single blade for defense. 2 sabers...if you want the extra crystals I guess, but they are useless really as you will have more power with a double blade and more defense (w/single blade) if built properly. In fact, as I said before the only way to really take advantage of the more crystals is to use special properties in your off hand as the crystals do not stack they work independently on each saber...sometimes I don't think people understand that.
  4. I believe it is possible but for balance issues it probably won't be included. I mean it makes sense, why couldn't you make one side retractable if your really wanted to???
  5. I disagree they are the worse animations IMO. Attack +3 is useless if you have a Guardian built right as their attack is so high they won't miss anyway, and +3 defense is great but with an extra attack/round you will kill your opponents faster and they will have less opportunities to hit you back...in this case, the best offense is a good defense. Not to mention I prefer the "flashier" styles with double bladed and 2 sabers...but single saber is extremely useful with a Consular.
  6. which I believe it does Admiral, HOTG w/2 best crystals owns! I prefer 2 sabers for the style more then effectiveness.
  7. Yea, he is off on the double bladed weapons being less effective then 2 weapons. They are more powerful and with only slightly less attack, and I believe if that is if you are going with 1 normal saber and 1 short saber (weaker). For a combined attack difference of what...something like 1? Sorry, 2. If you are going duel wielding and are not using critical strike I would recommend double bladed weapons. IMO, the most effective weapons in the game, especially for Guardians. Double Blade Sabers do more damage then 2 normal sabers with the best crystals inserted. They have as many attacks per round as normals sabers and do more damage, the choice is obvious. You won't miss anyway if you have your character built correctly. 4 crystals can be a bad thing as well, as you can invest the absolute best 3 crystals into double blade and those crystals will take into effect every attack a round. Where with 2 sabers you invest 6 crystals and obviously one setup will be slightly weaker then the other probably less attack or less damage bonuses or both. The advantage to extra crystals is to use something like blaster deflection properties, but most of those properties are not needed anyway as you have feats and energy shields and other means to combat blasters.
  8. he isn't when you have energy shields, and life support packs...or if you drain the captive jedi.
  9. The wizard stats are still not accurate and Malak is a sith lord but that class is never implemented into KOTOR. He is completely a jedi guardian no matter when you fight him. The represent Malak in the most important time, your final battle with him. When people read those stats they dont' think of the dumb downed Malak verision of the Leviathan. They are thinking of the badass you fight at the end.
  10. yes, for what you can check with combat rolls I believe. Haven't checked in awhile. Such as defense rolls, attack rolls, str bonus, force powers, etc. edit: you can see all this info with the combat feedback in the menu when fighting malak. its a good way to see stats. doesn't show everythign but enough.
  11. **sigh** they are correct for the most part. If you wanna double check when you fight Malak you can see that he has a STR bonus of +9 and an Defense of 38 as well as a AC of 38. Check the combat feedback and look at the combat rolls. The force powers tend to be correct as well. The Wizard site is wrong. There is no Sith Lord class and their stats are quite off. edit: attack of 38.
  12. Bioware just has the forums, like I said you can check the feedback. People with the PC version of KOTOR can check out character profiles and Malak's final in-game stats. http://swforums.bioware.com/viewtopic.html...92;'s+stats edit: combat feedback in the final battle with Malak.
