  1. I think the religious ones are the ones that usually start those sea events where they plead you to throw 1000 gold into the sea as sacrifice to the god of water. If you agree to pay it makes them increase moral. If you disagree with paying and you also have a crew mate that has "greedy" trait, then after this event they will ask for 500 gold extra pay on top of the 1k gold, since they think you're made of money.

  2. I don't know what you guys are on about. I love huge content-filled cities in games, and Neketaka sure felt way more city-ish than Defiance Bay.

That said, Defiance Bay probably had more stuff to do overall.

Neketaka has the same content as both Twin Elms and Defiance Bay put together. There's seriously so much in Neketaka some of which is easy to miss out on if you don't pay attention to your quest journal.

I like the narrator, and really don't understand why people hate her.  Is it because it's a female narrator and not a male narrator?

The narrator was possibly the only thing that bothered me. There's something about her voice that didn't fall in tune with the theme of the game. Every time she'd pop up to narrate the god cut scenes it would pull me out of the game. Her voice more suits something like a Voice over from Disney films like Frozen or Braided. I could almost imagine her dropping out of narration and into a song. Good voice actors need to have character and depth to their voice, and if it's a non-cliche voice then its all the better. I would have preferred the voice used for Maia to be used as Narrator instead. Her voice has a nice strong but almost warm sound to it.

  4. So, I come on to the island and come across this Copperhead guy. He tells me to meet him at his place to tell me something. I go to his place, and he tells the whole situation and told me to inspect up in the crypt. I go there, kill everything inside. There's a gate which is close by some mechanic but this is opened by killing everyone in the crypt and using their blood to open it.

Going through the gate, I come up to the peak of the crypt where I fight Mezzago. I kill him and it tells me to go speak to Copperhead. When I go back to his place he just says "Good luck" and doesn't open up dialogue.

I tried breaking the red globe thing where I fought Menzaggo but this doesn't change anything.

In my journal it looks like this:

Quest is still not completed. Anyone know what's up?

  5. As someone who's never played Cipher (not even in PoE1), which soulblade cipher skills are a must?

I'm doing a pillar soulblade too and I feel like I have no idea what i'm doing on my cipher side. Currently level 5 so only have access to level 2 skills, but not sure how I'll progress. I took biting whip instead of draining whip, hopefully that was a good idea. It sounded better in the long run.

  6. the one thing i dont like about devoted and monk is that you might miss out on a lot of cool weapons...and i hate nothing more than finding a super cool weaon and not being able to use it / adapt my playstile for it

From what I've had people telling me on here is that you can use melee weapons for monk too and the damage will still apply (apart from the skill The Long Pain). My plan is to dual wield weapons that do 'slash' damage and have it in one weapon slot and on another weapon slot just have fists for crush damage. Depending on the fight, just mouse over enemies to see which damage type they're most susceptible to and use that.

  7. Hopefully people don't see this thread as a negative thing - more of a thread to spurt quirky ideas you wish were in the game. Just a fun thing to do in anticipation of the game releasing (in 2 hours from now).

Pre-release majority of people haven't seen much of the game, but for the people who have seen streams/videos of the game have a rough idea of how PoE2 is.

So what small features, classes, items, anything do you wish was in the game. Maybe Obsidian will put it in a future dlc.

    Mine are:

    knuckle duster -

I get there are some sub classes which rely on fists alone, but I feel rather naked with just fists. Plus it would be nice to look out for loot that fitted your fists. Imagine something like "Diamond Etched Knuckle Duster looted from Chest"

    fishing -

Because fishing. Maybe craft some unique food with it.

I'll start with a monk/cipher as well, but not sure on subclasses yet.

I'll play solo, so shattered pillar with 5 max wounds would be bad for me, since Ill always gain wounds from damage.

The other monk subclasses don't seem appealing at all, Helwalker only has 3 max wounds and the drug monk seems totally unviable solo.

For cipher I'm torn between Ascendant and Soul Blade, Soul Blade seems much better early game but Ascendant seems like something you'd only be able to fully appreciate if you actually played it...

The monk/ascendant is likely very micro heavy. Soul Blade is probably the easier of the two, but without having tried it yet my gut feeling tells me ascendant will be better in the long run

I have very limited experience with cypher but what makes ascendant specfically more micro heavy?

  9.

You guys probably looked only twitter, when there is clearly other sources for codes.

Did you even check the links? Sure most codes are from twitter, but qute a few from other sources. And exept maby 1? all codes have been 1 or 2 klicks away from twitter, that they woud hide the last codes in some ubscure chinease website that only get 500 klicks a month is not likley.

From what I have seen most are hidden in images/gifs/videos.

Also, it is entirely possible that while I don't believe any have been found in live streams, that that is where they are.. I haven't had the time to watch the streams myself so I cannot verify one way or another... but...

I doubt it. The only streamer they would have hidden a code in is Cohh's as he was a special case who got the game before anyone else (apart from reviewers). I highly doubt he had one hidden as he was barely aware of the codes existence when he started way back on friday.

  10. The thing is Monk fists are really good. They do more damage per hit than a sword 16.5 vs 16 avg damage and attack at the fast speed of daggers.

But what about when you get better weapons mid-game or soulbound weapons with their different enhancements. I understand fist damage scales with level but even so I'd imagine mid-tier weapons and above will at some point surpass the damage of fists.

  11. I think inquisitor makes for a very nice single target synergy striker that is very efficient against single targets and very ressource friendly with sworn rival - FOD - soul annihilation ; rinse and repeat.... and herald offers tankiness healing and support as well as a lot of flexibility.... hmmmmmmmm

What's the benefit of a Paladin + Cipher vs something like a Soldier + Cipher. I'm thinking the latter has more stuns and the former has more buffs? I'm juggling between the two at the moment and not sure which will be suitable for me. Eventually I want something with okay defence but which one does the most damage? or is the difference negligible.

  12. I'm still really torn between what multiclass I'm going to pick. I was thinking about starting the game tomorrow (when its available) and quickly skipping to the first combat and giving my character 10K exp using console command. Will this affect steam achievements? I'm not one of those achievement addicts mind you, I only like getting all the achievements in specific games that I enjoy and I know i'm gonna enjoy this game.

So yeah, does using exp cheat in console command ruin steam achievements?

  13.

It's times like this I really wish they added a 'war room' feature where you can make random classes in a sandbox (only accessible from main menu) and try out different things.

Make a separate save, skim through the intro and rush to Port Maje.   Hard save.  Then

turn on cheats, give main character a bunch of XP, then cash and hire adventurers of higher levels.

A little bit of extra work, admittedly, but it doesn't take that long, and as long as you don't overwrite the base save, it's a permanent lab.

Wouldn't that mess up steam achievements though?

  14. So, question: Do people who don't use these codes get access to these items or is it only people who input the codes who receive them? My thinking is as its a community event, maybe all the codes need to be found by a few people of the community for it to be unlocked automatically for anyone who owns the game. I mean I would prefer it if it was unique to those who entered the codes only but yeah.

  15. I'm really tempted to go Bleak Walker+Berserker. My plan is to have most of my party ranged and at front have Eder and me. Now with frenzy the confusion won't be an issue once I get Mentall Fortress. My only concern is how much will the frenzy effect Eder? What's the range and is it possible for me to angle it so that it only touches enemies?

It's times like this I really wish they added a 'war room' feature where you can make random classes in a sandbox (only accessible from main menu) and try out different things.
