  1. I am pretty much a strictly impulse buyer... odd I know. But for the most part I tend to have no real idea what I want when I walk into a store, just the need to get something to kill time with. It's how I've ended up with the majority of my video games over the years, as well as the last two consoles I've bought, and my latest computer (though that was more out of frustration at my previous computer's case of randomly failing to recognize the Hard Drive).

  2. Think about the pro.

No threat from Dark Side users.

Con: No Jedi to help win wars.

No more light side, no more dark side, just the evil that lies in every mans (or womans as the case may be) heart. Besides while the dark side seeks to conquer all, the light side should by rights try to stay out of wars. Only the ones who tread to close to the dark side involve themselves in wars. Just look at Revan and Malak for a perfect example of that. And before someone starts crying EU said this or EU said that, I am working from limited knowledge at best. Most of which revolves around cannon (the movies) and the KOTOR games. Oh and as for Episode two and three, well you would fight to if you were being hunted and or your way of life being crushed, now wouldn't you.

Meh I may be wrong but that's my two cents of the subject.

  3. Not too mention that most of the time the game will lock up... sometimes from gaining too many levels (my game always locked up around level 52 or 53) or if you spawn too many creatures for the game too calculate the XP properly. In the end, while it allows one too gather quick levels it winds up wasting a lot of time and effort for something that isn't really needed, since you can easily beet the game by playing through normally. Though too try the exploit just because its there then yes it is a handy thing... when it works.

  4. If your having a hard time finding a certain type of crystal or item try saving a reloading before visiting a vendor or the crystal caves for the first time. The game operates on a random loot system meaning that (almost) nothing is ever in the same spot twice... on purpose anyway. Once you visit a vendor or the crystal caves for the fist time you loot there will always be set, so you must save and reload prior to talking too or visiting those places.

  6. It would seem to me that this would be the original sith race (or at the very least their decendants [sp?])and not the sadow's followers of the sith religon (i.e. sadows men and women). The only reason I say this is because to have traditional sith beyond the outer rim wouls seem pointless, given the fact that in both games by the time you reach the 10th level you can already kill everyone with out much problem. So it would only sound reasonable that there would be something more powerful beyod known space purhaps another species or something to that effect. I would also think that even if the followers of sadow had gone beyond the rim they as a culture would have evolved similar to that of the sith that still exicted inside known space, given the fact that they were using the same basic belief system and guiding rule to govern themselves as a society. Thus making them virtually a non-existant threat to Revan and the Exile (or really anyone else we could get as a PC). Now I have nothing to back this up other than the fact that it would seem logical too me and my personal opinion on the matter, so I very likely could be wrong.

  7. I am unable to open 3 military doors (not the sublevel door I see mentioned on the forums).  States I need to specific consoles, but of the 3 or 4 consoles I can find nothing to open the military doors.  I am essentially stuck in the room where I can overload the charging droids.  I did that, but still no open door option.  What simple thing am I blindly missing?????

if your talking about the doors I think (the doors located along the main path where the map says there is a room behind them but when you try to open them you are told that they are controlled by a console else where), then there is no way to open them, they are sealed and since we can't get to the sub level we can't be sure if the console needed to open them is down there or not, chances are that if the sublevel was able to be accessed (in it's completed state) we would find good weapons and armor behind them or at the very least another couple containers where the random loot system would yet agian screw the pooch.

  8. ok then I guess the question that needs to be asked is what the hell is M4-78 suppost to be? I mean if it has nothing to do with the driod plant then what is it just another single story element that got cut or did it really hold the key to finally understanding the whole Damn story? It would be nice if it completed the story.... well atleast as far as is possible without the intended ending.

  9. OK. But after completing your training in KOTOR I and gaining the quest "Sandral/ Matale fued" Vrook says that it is in the real world and its problems where jedi distinguish(maybe "prove") themselves.

I understand what you are getting at as well. I was swayed to vote her Evil because of my impresions of her in the game. That, and i just dont like her all that much.

The part I underlined was what I found most interesting in you last comment, and what I was trying to convey before, if she had been properly polished and the cut content of Atris hadn't been cut then I think she would have turned out to one of the better characters. Personally I didn't like her either but I still don't belive that she was evil.

The Jedi Masters at least acted because they thought the exile would bring harm to the galaxy (and not without good reason).  I didn't like the way they all turned on you in the end, but I still think it was better than what Kreia had done.  She was only concerned about herself.

Ok but they acted out of fear not reason, they were afraid that the exile would bring their deaths, the death of the Galaxy was a side thought too them. She may have been only out for herself but the thing is if she was only out for herself then why would she want the force dead since it would lead to her being killed along with everyone else... saying the death of the force would kill everything.

How can you even say that?  Of course she was trying to push her beliefs on you throughout the game.  Anytime you did something she didn't like, she was always quick to yell at you and tell you how you were wrong and she was right.  And if you disagreed with her, you of course lost influence.  Don't even try to say she didn't push her beliefs on you.  As for the beggar situation, if Kreia had her way, nobody would help each other in the world, and we'd be far worse off.  Her philosophy doesn't help anybody.  It only favors the "strong" over the "weak" and encourages one to be selfish.  Sure doing the right thing may backfire sometimes, but it more often than not has a positive outcome, not a negative one.  :ermm:

Perfect example: Kreia yells at you when you help return Lootra's wife to him.  Yet if you hadn't helped him, the two of them would likely have been separated forever, all because of Kreia's selfish "don't help the weak" philosphy.  And of course, helping them didn't produce any negative outcome.

Ok your right on that she was sort of pushing her ideas onto the PC but the thing is that once you went and talked to her on the hawk she always gave you a reason why she got mad, also what about Bastila she got mad at the PC a lot in KOTOR when you did something evil in her presence.

You kill the force, you kill life.  The exile himself wasn't even cut off from the force, he was merely deafaned to it, as the Jedi Masters tell you later in the game.  And the force never manipulates or controls humans, contrary to what Kreia believed, so pretty much all her motivations were false.  Just like she and her philosphies were false.  o:)

Not really accurate you weren't even deffend to the force you were a vaccumm in the force where the force was silenced by your presence. So in effect you were cut off from the force, purhaps more so than anyone else had ever been, Also if what you say was true then no one could ever be cut off from the force and there has been a few people who were cut off from the force by the jedi masters. I remember people talking about people in the comics who were cut off from the force, so the force isn't life it is merely an exstention of it and killing the force would only limit a persons perceptions of the world around them and not kill them like you said about.

  10. Personally I think is she would have had a little bit more work done on her and the cut content about Atris not been but then she would have turned out to be a different character all together and purhaps one of the better characters in the whole game, namely because the exile and her had so much convo options compaired to the others in your group. Because the forcing of her to be the final sith lord really only took away from the character rather than adding too it.

Yeah. Her intentions are sketchy at best, never made entirely clear. Side effect of the cutting. Some times she was neutral, other times, she wanted to make you see that the world was weak without suffering, which the jedi seemed to try and stop.

I can understand what your getting at but the thing is that the jedi belive the samething, I remember one of the jedi (I think it was a jedi) at the enclave in KOTOR saying much the same thing to the player when asked what to do about the mandalorian attacks on that farmer and his family (the one where canderous says he should have been stronger and it wouldn't have happened - saying he is in you party when you meet the guy). But the jedi like to let people deal with their own problems rather than try to solve them for them since it would only cause the people to depend too much on the jedi.

  11. Nah, X-Box uses ACTION REPLAY.

That's something like an additional cheat disk, with lightsaber adding hacks, savegames of M4-78 etc.

So they can make some extra cash of cheating punks playing X-Box   :-

yeah I have an action replay but it doesn't do cheats only game saves (for the Xbox anyway, I knwo the PS2 one does cheats), wihich is really kind of useless for KOTOR and TSL since I can't seem to make the save files work on my XBOX. I was just wondering why they decided to not include the same or atleast a similar cheat system for the XBOX as what is on the PC version.

  12. Kreia didn't care about anything. She wanted it all to end. The death of the Force, daeth on everything.

Not true in the entire game it never lets on that Kreia wanted everything dead in fact all she wanted was the force out of the way so that people could grow and learn on their own, instead of being controlled or governed by the force. And she also thought that because the exile had learned to live without the force that it was indeed possible to kill the force without killing everything.

  13. Kreia cared nothing for anyone's lives.  Throughout the entire game, she constantly shows that she only views others around her as her pawns.  Add that to the fact that she had a selfish, personal motivation for everything she did, and of course wanted to destroy the force because she thought it was evil.  If Kreia really did believe she was neutral, then she was blind to her own nature.  She was also a hypocrite, and betrays everyone around her whom she claims to care about, even the exile.  She deserved to die.  :-

But honestly how is that behaviour any different than the Jedi Masters? Most of the Jedi masters (to me atleast) seemed to be very selfish in the way they acted, they were more concerned about the safety of the jedi order and more importantly themselves over that of the rest of the universe. Not too mention the fact that they wanted to destroy the Exile not because s/he was evil but because they didn't fully understand what s/he was. It pissed me off to no end when you could have been so pure that you had a beam of light comming out of you butt, but instead of trying to help fight the true threat all they could see is the danger that you MIGHT pose to them and their way of being. Now too me that doesn't sound like a very piller of light thing to do, does it? agian this draws back to the horrible ending that was forced upon us as gammers.

Just because she says she's not evil doesnt discredit the actions she commits and advises the character on. She says "I'm not evil.." then gives you influence points for admitting that your allies are nothing but slaves who should be sacrificed.

But what I was getting at was that the devs tried to make her seem not evil while not being good, well atleast compaired to the other Sith lords in the game. She may have had some wacked out ideas but what she was trying to do throughout the whole game was not influence you by pushing her beleifs onto you (like other jedi and sith masters seemed to so in both KOTOR and TSL) but forceing you to make you own decisions and to also learn that with all the decisions that you could make they would have a price. A good example of this was the begger on Nar Shadaa If you gave him money then you would see that he would get mugged, and if you didn't then he would live to see another day. Personally I think is she would have had a little bit more work done on her and the cut content about Atris not been cut then she would have turned out to be a different character all together and purhaps one of the better characters in the whole game, namely because the exile and her had so much convo options compaired to the others in your group. Because the forcing of her to be the final sith lord really only took away from the character rather than adding too it.

  14. Kreia was neither good nor evil..... though I am not sure how that worked with her wanting to destroy the force and being a sith lord and all. I would think that being a sith lord and wanting to destory the force would kind of make her evil, though if I remember correctly (and I could be wrong given the fact that I haven't played tha game in along time) she say's herself that she isn't evil nor good but merelu neutral.. or something to that effect

  15. As others have said (out of your list that is) the random loot thing was purhaps the worst. But (again as others have said) it would have been better if they could have sectioned the loot drops to either catagory or class, since this would tend to make sense that a dark jedi would drop atleast a robe, since they could always argue that the lightsaber was broken in the battle, and not 8 stim packs and 2 med packs plus like one or two credits.

But I would also have to say that the worst part of the game is a tie between the old game engine and the cut content. I personally would take a "finished" game with a bad random loot system than an "unfinished" game with a perfect random loot system.

  16. My way of thinking it would go something like this

    1) Hoods on robes

    2) The ability to kill any and all party members should they object to your DS ways

    3) The ability to manipulate Random people for your enjoyment (i.e. using force persuade to start a fight in the Onderon bar, or in the mandalorian camp, or where ever you happen to be)

    4) UPGRADES!!! not just more for the lightsaber, but also for the ebon hawk and swoop bikes and remote

    5) Getting you original lightsaber back from the ice queen

    6) Not only a Finished game but a game that is almost twice as long as TSL would be nice

    7) Better party interaction and back stories (also including finished conversation tree's).

Finally :- A new game and graphics engine. Since this one is old and worn out as it is.

OK well thats all I can think of off the top of my head right now.

  17. Since microsoft has already the final game to be "printed" for the xbox it's hihgly doubtful that K3 would appear on the original Xbox. So it seems more than likely that it will appear on the Xbox 360 instead. I personally like that idea since it will allow whoever is developing the game to improve on things that both K1 and K2 either lacked entirely or did poorly as well as to do things that we as gammers have never seen. Also since K3 isn't in development at the moment (and I wont belive it is until I see it on a reputable web site or in a reputab;e gamming mag) I am willing to bet that we wont see (and maybe not even hear about it being made) until atleast 2007, thus giving whoever is going to be developing it the chance to make it the way it should be done rather than the way another game that shall go unmentioned at this time was done.

  18. I am really surprised to find this many people who like KOTOR's engine/graphics, I would have figured more than is shown in the poll would have wanted a new engine for the thrid installment of the franchise. But sadly it seems that the vast majority like it the way it is, I just it hope its not "fanboy-ism" thats voting (by that I mean "well the last two games used the same engine so, so should the thrid one new technology be dambed!")

Just because people tihnk the engine is good doesn't mean they want it used again. You're drawing too many conlcusions. It's not implied that Good is the same as Good enough.

Your right I was making a general assumution there! and for that I do appologise. But to be fair in past topics of this sort the vast majority used that very reason as to why the liked and wanted to keep the original engine.

Though I personally think they should get rid of this current engine and start from scratch on a new one I find it doubtful that they will invest the time and money needed to do so. Its seems more likely that K3 and K4 (since it seems likely we will only get two per console life span) will arrive using a modified version of someone elses engine just like K1 and K2 did. Now this in it;s self isn't a bad thing in fact it can be a very good thing but only if it is handled correctly (or in other words LA backing off and letting the developer take the time needed to finish the game or conversely giving them the time needed to finish the game properly rather than a rather impossible 18 months).
