  1. The jedi bosses of the game were regular enemies with huge plot buildup. Oh wait...I forgot that I neaded to heal once against Nihilus...

I had trouble with one boss:visas. That's it. I died once against her because I was so entirely not ready and I used horrible strats.

I completely agree it's ridiculous...I've played alot of RPGs and I think the way that the "new sith feed on force" thing is just absurd. It's accepted that the enemies get stronger throught the game, and players should accept that without bizarre plot explanations.

Anyone tried playing the game on hard mode? Is it better?

  2. After finally viewing the "Kreia's Fall" movie, I have a greater respect for the character. I cringed at what her fellow Sith Lords did to her, and where once I saw a manipulative witch, now I see someone just trying to regain the dignity that she lost and taking out her anger against both the Jedi and the Sith for what was done.

    When'd u see that movie?

  3. I'd be more likely to buy unseen if Obsidian do it. I'm kinda dreading going back to a Bioware story after KOTORII. I'm interested in JE but more from a different gameplay angle (it's much more hands on than previous Bio RPGs).

Considering I played KOTORII 4 times I got way more value out of it than many "complete" games which I only played once (KOTORI being one of those).

Absolute opposite here...KOTOR 1 7ish times and wondering if i should replay KOTOR 2 a second time.

  4. I just felt at the end of the game that the story hadn't really started yet...

I mean there was very little done with the characters...

And the plot seemed just somehow...not right...

    I'm not quite sure what...

Also, i really missed friendly locales

In KOTOR 2 there really were no friendly cities or places where you could interact, like Taris or Dantooine or parts of every city including Korriban...

    Any ideas?

  5. I am playing on a laptop. Windows XP. Downloading went smoothly. When I start the program, it tells me I should change my screen resolution, but that message goes away so fast I can't read what I should change it to. Then the game screen fills 3/4 of my screen. After that, the startup progresses until I get to the screen after the company names where it says SW KOTOR 2. There, it maximizes, gives me an error message, and exits. The error message is the standard one when one has a nonresponsive program. It says something went wrong, isn't specific, and asks if i would like to report it.

When i tell it to scan my hardware, there's always an error, but it still gives me some information.

I have a warning on my video card.

I have XGI Volari and they don't like it. I downloaded NVidia, but it still says i use xgi volari.

My OpenGL failed. I don't even know what an open GL is, so I couldn't solve that problem.

    Everything else passed.

  6. Yah I'd thought about that also...makes the pain of being a jedi much more realistic...especially since you're broke alot. I got this idea by thinking taht the jedi would repect the sith enough not to take their lightsabers (even though they're enemies), but the sith would just loot corpses right and left.

  7. Does this mean we can block a lightsabre UNARMED.  (w00t)

This would pose a problem in the SW universe. Unarmed combat could not do too well against energy weapons, such as lightsabers and blasters. An unarmed character would have to have a ridiculously high DEX so they would be able to dodge almost all incoming energy attacks. True, characters with only blasters aren't that good against incoming bolts or lightsabers either, but these were low-level characters in KotOR 1, who became Jedi, and were thus able to counter energy attacks.

There would also have to be an advantage to having unarmed attacks. If you're a Jedi, you would use a lightsaber. If not, there needs to be an advantage to being unarmed over using, say, a viroblade. Neither unarmed nor viroblade-using characters would be able to deflect blaster bolts (though viroblades can block lightsabers in KotOR 1!) so I would always use a viroblade, just because it seems more condusive to higher damage.

Then again, from a roleplaying perspective, someone with sufficent martial arts training should be able to dodge instead of block...I'd guess it would functionas more of a D&D monk...
