  1. Prometheus Wept is still slugging it out on Kickstarter. 78% funded, with 8 days to go. Looks like it's going to be down to the line I've also made a couple of dev playthroughs of the demo, one showing a simultaneous battle between cyberspace and the physical world. Here you encounter a strange entity in an abandoned underground bunker, and must inject your consciousness into the bunker's network to open the blast door. While you're inside, your ally, a sociopath con man with the ability to manipulate people's mind must defend you from a group of marauders. The other playthrough shows the first combat area in the game, where you are dispatched to restore order in a dilapidated fishing village, who residents have become violently insane. If anyone has any questions or feedback about the game, let me know!
  2. Thank you @ShadySands!
  3. Happy to, @Hurlsnot - glad to hear you enjoyed Vigilantes!
  4. Hi all. I've just launched a Kickstarter for my third game, Prometheus Wept. Some of you may remember Vigilantes, my last game. Prometheus Wept is also a turn based game, but more refined and varied, with more emphasis on role playing and story. It's set in a post digital world, where all computerised technology has been corrupted by a virus. Here's the video, which is likely the best way to convey what Prometheus Wept is about. If you have any questions or feedback, let me know!
  5. Thank you, Nonek!
  6. Yeah, we've crossed the line on the Kickstarter - it was a big relief. If there's a reward you are interested in, feel free to send me a pm and we can organise that. Otherwise, please do, and thanks for your interest!
  7. The initial reason for naming the protagonist was for voice clips from allies, which reference the character's name. Not sure if this will go ahead, now. Depending on time constraints, and given that nothing major stands in the way, I may add the option to name the protagonist. From a backstory standpoint, the current plan is to make a few fairly ambiguous references to Sam's past, that will provide some clues as to my take on a background and set of life events which could lead to someone turning toward vigilantism. The intention is that these clues won't prevent players from deciding who their version of Sam is. Glad the rest of the game is to your liking - it's taken an incredible amount of work to get it this far, and it's nice to know it's being enjoyed! Know what you mean - turn based RPGs are my favourite genre. It's largely because of games like Fallout and X-Com that Vigilantes exists - the impression they made is still strong twenty years later!
  8. Thanks Volourn, glad you like it. You mean the preset name for the protagonist?
  9. I agree, ShadySands, it was incredibly kind of them to help out the little guy. It made an incredible difference to the campaign - all the uncertainty of whether of not the campaign would make it gone in a few hours.
  10. Sshh... let's just keep talking about Vigilantes : )
  11. Will there be various ending states or slides, like in Fallout, or is this a do or die affair? What assets will be available to gather intelligence on your foe? Snitches, beggars, upstanding citizens doing their civic duty, that one honest bobby etc. I have to admit that I do like the inclusion of scouting out the opposition, makes imminent sense, and is rarely utilised in games. Hey, sorry for the slow response, Nonek. In terms of ending, it's likely that there will be 2 endings, depending on how much mayhem you cause - there's a choice between using lethal force for extra damage, or non lethal force, and allowing the police to take it from there. Surveillance is abstracted a little - you pick a city tile, and either go yourself, or send an ally to see what they can find. First you have to figure out if there's criminal activity in the tile, and if so, which gang is responsible. After that you can launch a mission against that tile. Higher levels of surveillance are required for finding allies, gang leaders, and enemy facilities.
  12. Different Timeslip, Lexx.

  14. Ah, thank you for the clarification! Would it be okay if I posted the links to the Greenlight and Kickstarter campaigns?
  15. Hi all. I'm the developer of Vigilantes. Thanks for the mention. It's currently an alpha but I hope it will give you a good indication of the direction the game is headed in. Anthony is indeed the voice of Ray Case and the main character Sam Contino, and he is indeed very talented! In case anyone would like to give the demo a try, you can download it here: http://www.indiedb.com/games/vigilantes/downloads Also, if you have any questions about Vigilantes, more than happy to answer, though my posts need to be approved and are limited to 5 a day right now.
