  1. Well thats why I wanted to game to be larger with more character types to develop, to benefit to aggressive and non agressive player. I found it odd that if I played my character good (boring) my choices still ended up being A. Kill alot of people B. Kill alot of people. If I played as evil I had the same choices exept someone would say, are you Sure you want to kill all those poeple. So its either OK murder in the name of good or Bad murder. I couldn't help but think why can't I a good Jedi just force persuade these people to all think their roosters or little pigs or something. My problem was that the mind control powers only ever came into play when the story arc decided it was ok for you to use them. If I have mind control and mind trick powers then hey, I wanna use them when (I) need to. If you need to slow down combat just push the action key alot or after every attack or something, probably won't be converted to turn based at any point though. Sounds like you don't like button smashing, what they could do is in the game options set it to auto stop after each successful blow/attack. I though they had something similar to that in K2 though, but I think it was an auto target after every battle other than every single attack. But with the amount of enemies in Kotor turn based would take forever..... Jekk Jekk Tar bar would have taken an eternity that way.
  2. Well just set the action key as an optional stop that you do not have to use, and set up your powers on (optional hot keys) like the number buttons next to home key. That way its optional phased based instead of mandatory.... personally I can do without to auto stops.. just as long as it autosaves before I get whacked. Or for more programming pains just set a 3 option toggle at the games startup, A. real time B. Phased C.Turn based ...... I don't see this happening but there you go. But with turn based you end up with final fantasy star wars tactics (twich).
  3. Oh ok lol, I see well... I have been up for 24 hours, I can miss a few details. Sorry :D I thought when i mentioned force jumping It would be in effect negating some of the phased based fighting if anything, got used to that groovy jump pack in Bounty Hunter. Oh and I vote A. Die
  4. How does any of that translate into turn based?... a simple power cap, more powers, more detailed powers, restrictions on light side(dark side) users from useing the entire spectrum of force powers. A harder and more detailed character development that makes you specialize more so you won't be uber god, and a game that caters on a more personal level does not translate into turn based. Phased based is fine pfft I dont care what kind of combat timing they put in, I want a Force power tree closer to the reality of the movies and comics. I don't see how thats unreasonable. Adding side quests doesn't mean turn based either, it just means more work for the programmers... who doesn't want more places and people to meet/explore. Fixing the powers/levels system isn't a cry for turn based either.. when you click on the (level) button the game always stopped anyway, I don't see how this is a big change. If you don't like the idea thats fine.. its a forum after all... but where the #$%#% did you get turn based from.
  5. I would also like to be referred to as either Jedi or Sith or whatever I represent in the next game. I don't want to be a special snowflake Jedi/Sith who is constantly called Chosen one, Exile, One who will bring balance to the force, or Golden Child or something. On a more important note Force powers in the past games are used more like ammunition in an FPS, charge them up and fire. I dont see many realistic uses of the force, especially in reguards to raw force manipulation. I mean levitation, grabbing objects without walking over to them, using random objects as weapons, Force jumping onto another platform far away from danger etc. Wouldn't be hard Star Wars bounty hunter had better movement than either Kotor did... also much better fights due to the 3 deminsional movement you had. Why in a 3D game we only have 2D movement is frustrating. Also commented earlier on this but limits to force powers or caps, Vader only really ever used force choke, force throws and was a powerful fighter as far as strength goes. Palpatine(Sidious) rarely used anything other than lighting and mental manipulation. Yoda was a little ninja who had great skills at defending against undefendable attacks like lightning(see palpatine fight) but didn't show any other real powers other than really good force awareness and future sight... which should be a power choice. Basically it needs to be redone to more of an either D&D style or White Wolf style of skills(powers) and crossing to a darkside power if your a Jedi should cost double just like if your a Ventrue trying to learn Tremere powers, for those of you who have no idea who those are, just read up on white wolf character creation and youll see what i mean. Seems to me most average jedi/sith are fighter grunts who mainly just have some basic force manipulation powers and put alot into fighting to compensate, a strong jedi which Vader most definately was would be able to hurl boulders and pieces of ship at you by ripping them off with his power. Take in mind he isnt a top notch saber fighter soo just got tired of it and threw some stuff at Luke till he got him worn down, then went for the kill with some cyborg powered blows. Palpatine probably trained for years to learn to cast a single lighting bolt at like a fly or somethingl. Its not something that should be a spammable power. In order to use that force earthquke as much as Exile did in K2 hed have to be easily Vaders equal or more. Force Tornado.. I saw Obiwan use that a (few) times against some shield droids.. and Ben is strong in the force. There should be trainers scattered across the galaxy who will train only those they deem worthy sith/jedi. Holocrons to learn from etc. It should be Hard to learn new exotic force powers so you will feel accomplishment when you learn them, also if there are alot of strange things to learn about the force everyone wont have a clone of each others character. I heard that the weaker jedi from the Lucas stories were taught to use their powers to grow things, these were some of the Jedi that were non - combatants, Sith orders have their own types of weak underlings who learn utiity skills with thier powers. This would be good for the peaceful player who wants to just help farming communties and do peacful stuff ..... err not me but some people might want to do that. A vast world with more personal limitations is far more interesting.
  6. The ability to join or run other factions would be nice, like Corta. Would give you something to do besides running all over the galaxy, instead of being the hunted being the hunter for a change would be nice. How about more areas per planet to explore, more cities etc. More side quests to keep you busy and maybe give you the chance to do what you would like to do instead of being cowprodded by the NPCs to what they want as apposed to what you would like to be doing. In the last game I felt sort of herded, go to a planet and well here it is all 100 feet of the planet.. well time to go do what Kriea wants to do. There should be more to a city also than 2 floors or a couple of levels and a shuttle room, if everything is going to be scripted than there is just soo much to keep you interested in 20 rooms.. some of which are empty. I don't mind going solo in a game, NPCs aren't really a necessary thing for me, but I would like more non player NPC characters and a boat ton of places to go next time. Also what about bounty hunters that actually hunt you down on thier own rather than just spawn during a story plot then (boom) ok were freinds now. Static enemies who don't want to be your freind would be nice, thier should be a nice assortment of people that hate you and want you dead and that aren't just pathetic peons that die with a wave of your hand. And not every NPC has to be part of the story plot, some people are just hateful, thieves, murderers and crooks, and not every NPC you meet has to have an annoying quest so you can leave the planet, why not just buy/steal a shuttle. If we have an NPC or if our character is a Tech.. then let him do tech stuff.. build droids, buy/repair ships, etc.
  7. Most of you do not want to start off as Jedi .. thats fine, however most Jedi were trained (young) not in their 30s.... or 20s for that matter. The guy who is just getting trained at 18, 20 years old (Luke Skywalker) theme is getting old for me. But a 16 or 18 year old force adept in the beginning is not unreasonable. Also more areas in Nar Shaddaa to explore... and a working and non buggy Jekk Jekk tar bar.
  8. And Yeh Plano I really like your idea on AI controlled party members. It would get rid of the stop and go fighting that goes on.
  9. There should be more enemies who are better equipped to fight jedi, I mean if your expecting Jedi/Sith then your not gonna send meatbags with pistols.. If you have half a brain. No probably shield bots or something that can combat it better. Also what is with the force powers that effect only robots.. what school of Jedi training is this from, to me it was more of a way to defeat a foe that was inheritly immune to Jedi mind tricks and other attacks. There also seemed to be too many generic sith drones running around.. I must have killed hundreds of Sith fodder throughout the game, I figured a Sith of any type as deadly and not cannon fodder (remembers the escape scene with the falcon cannon). And please don't make us wait half the game to get someone else to make a light saber for us, I see it this way, if I were a Jedi I think I might know better than some guy I just met how to build a lightsaber, I might even (boggle) already know how to make one. More options on character appearance even if there is only one race to choose, my options in the last game was A. Bald guy B. Asian guy C. Bee Gees man. Can we lose the generic swords as well, Jedi and Sith use lightsabers, a sword is not a replacement or a temporary fix to having a lightsaber, why would someone who has been training as a Jedi/Sith lower themselves to using bladed weapons when force shock or force wave something or another would be much better...I don't recall seeing any Saber sword weapons in the movies save maybe for a Wookie.. but not sure on that either. No wierd strange force power modifications to my character, the force bonding black whole thing was kinda lame, I would like to have normal force powers next time with no wierd bond to someone I want to kill for most of the game. Force powers or mind tricks should work in realistic situations all the time, like when were freeing the Twileks girlfreind from dancing for the Twilek Thug, who wouldn't have just automatically did the force hand thing and be like "you want to let the girl go.. and give me all you possessions... and err do you have another ship somehwere, I have some people I want to get away from (party members)" You get the Idea. Can we not have the lost puppy party member thing going on next time, as well as real death for when they die.. so we can be rid of them once and for all... just a thought.
  10. I usually play Sith characters since they tend to be more fun, but can we have alternate backgrounds for Jedi and Sith characters? I mean no one who is playing a sith wants to be called Jedi for.. well the whole game. More non linear gameplay would be fun, going as far as to not have to end the game if you don't want to... I have fought for all these dark side powers, now I want to destroy Jedi and or accumulate personal power, so maybe we can actually become crime lords, run syndicates, train our own Sith apprentice, build or have ships built for us, and have static enemies. Theres all kinds of new AI out there that makes this possible... just look at the new Eldar Scrolls. The option to choose which NPCs we take and a much wider option, or to have no NPCs tagging along if we don't want, who needs NPCs the only company I need is a couple of ill mannered HK droids which I have programmed myself For the explorer or information hunter types we can have all sorts of Jedi/Sith secrets scattered across the Universe so we can actually find and use some of those fabled Holocrons. You can still have a dynamic story line without being forced into situations your character would simply not do, for instance the Handmaiden.. and Kriea... err maybe even Visis I don't know about you guys.. but one or both of them may have (accidentally) gotten shot into the vacum of space. I would like to not just have the ability to fight the bad guys but to become the bad guy everyone wants to kill, if your a Jedi you want to go do Jedi stuff like help people or get orders from the council, climb the ranks in the council etc. This is mainly a PC franchise so why does it have to have a cut and dry finish.. lets have some replay value other than starting the game over. Maybe even more customisation into force powers as you see Palpatine had a much differant style than Vader so maybe make one set path of learning in the dark side/Light side and well Specialise in a way I was actually upset that it was soo easy to master all the light and dark side powers and become like a god or something, I want to be powerful mind you... but not Luke Skywalker.. maybe every character can have a midichlorian count and have a finate amount of not only force points but schools of thought as well It is in a way like learning a martial arts.. you cannot possible know all of them. I would have liked a plot in Kotor2 where I help Freedon Nadd be resurrected, ditch the loosers I am with and use his training to defeat the other sith.. Kill Freedon Nadd and get to use that cool ship of his as a base as I declare myself Master of all Sith and begin fighting for my life from the hordes of Jedi do gooders.. it was a dream I had. Anyway thats all.
