  1. still, it's getting better...with the 1998 Compaq(3 GB hard drive ) i once had, only about 1/2 the games i bought would work...i was practically ripping my hair out...I was an all PS1 person at the time. i suppose i should just buy some ram..I was up to 800 something, but the computer's original RAM started making it crash and I had to take it out and do a total restore..back to 512 mb
  2. very true the thing about console gaming is there are so many different systems and games aren't consistent between them, at least with PC you have one uniform system(unless you have a MAC, ha (w00t) !) , even if you have to upgrade ocassionaly. also, you have to buy a new console 'bout every 3 years to be able to play the latest games
  3. depending on how old the NVIDA card is, it could work, but a newer one would be a much safer bet
  4. You'll definitley need at least 512 MB ram to run most games, along with a decent video card. My e machines came w/ an integrated graphics thing and ran almost no good games...a few 2d games worked...(windows xp)...but I added 512 mb of ram and got a video card...RADEON 9550, a somewhat older one but most games run just fine on it...sound seems to be causing the black screen problem i'm having at a certain movie in kotor 2 which led me to this page and im just looking for someone who may kow how to fix this...the games fades to a black screen in-between movies and freezes...the sound starts to loop at 1 sec intervals and the game crashes...
