  1. I recognize that those were popular games that many people liked. Anything else you want to recognize while I'm at it?
  2. I'm glad you find sharing your fantasies with me amusing. And how does that prove your point that the "unwashed masses" want indepth RPGs again? What is this gaming community you speak of? What percentage of gamer wants games like Fallout or PST and what percentage wants something much simplier like God of War, for example, an enjoyable, but shallow game? Again with the fantasies and assumptions. I like FPS games. I like RTS games. I also happened to like RPG games. While there is no shortage of quality shooters or strategy games, the RPG genre, especially for PC, is currently in decline. It's a faulty observation. If you want to know about my views, ask, don't assume. You have a very vivid imagination. I'm amazed at your mind-reading powers.
  3. Those links were NOT the example of PST being a great game, they were a PROOF that many people think that it is a great game, which is what my point was all about. Similarly, I may trash NWN or DS, but I would never argue against the fact that those games were popular and sold well. Do I have to explain that to you, Volly?
  4. Obsessive behavior? Once again, it was a discussion, I expressed an opinion. I compared PST to KOTOR2 the same way one may compare the first book of an author to his latest work. Am I getting through here? You are embarrassing yourself now.
  5. Oh, look, a few lines firther down: http://www.gamespot.com/features/6128539/index.html "Click-click-click-click-click." Apparently Diablo is "great" enough to be on that list too. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So? It's a great game, isn't it? Or did you expect me to have a heart attack? Different genres. Doom is probably on that list too, or at least, it should be.
  6. Yeah that explains it, then. You register here to defend your beloved Codex, because you don't care what we think. I registered here on January 12. I decided to join this discussion to clear up some questions/issues about the interview. I ignored many attacks on the Codex in this thread, because I really couldn't care less.
  7. It looks more like you are saying, unequivically, that Planescape: Torment is one of the best games ever made. http://www.gamespot.com/features/6135401/index.html "Despite its flaws, and by virtue of its unorthodox design, innovative gameplay, and distinctive story and writing, Planescape: Torment has rightfully claimed its place among GameSpot's greatest games of all time." http://www.gamespy.com/articles/540/540546p1.html "In a world where gamers constantly cry about the need for originality, Planescape: Torment easily qualifies as one of the most strikingly original games ever conceived and the game's failure to sell is a mystery that would even baffle the Lady of Pain." http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_...410/ai_n7180539 (Computer Gaming World) "t took the surreal, otherworldly AD&D Planescape tabletop game and created one of the most unique role-playing games ever." Those aren't regular reviews, btw, those are Hall of Fame articles.
  8. Lonely? Are you kidding me? I can barely find an unoccupied space after you guys moved in.
  9. Yes, I'm clearly trying very hard to win your love and sympathies. I merely find arguing with the locals here amusing.
  10. Was I in court? It was a casual conversation, that Chris himself added to the interview, and I simply stated my observation that PST is a highly regarded game by many gamers. Not all. Not majority. Many.
  11. Really? Wow, you guys like totally opened my eyes! Can I see where I called him stupid and a sellout?
  12. It's called a discussion. We were talking about PST and ...[dramatic drumroll]... we disagreed. OMG! Can you believe it? Really? Having an opinion is considered hilarious here?
  13. What past? I beg to differ. The unwashed masses are perfectly ok with inferior games, which explains why there aren't that many indepth RPGs in development at the moment. Rhomal, how about you won't make any idiotic assumptions about the Codex and I won't make any idiotic assumptions about your site? We did? More bull****. We posted them, didn't we? As funny as that sounds, we can respect someone's opinion, even if we disagree, which is more than I can say about this forum.
  14. What exactly are you talking about? The problem with discussing abstract stuff is that it doesn't always give you an accurate picture of a developer. Discussing features in general, and discussing implemented features that have good sides / bad sides are two different things. The influence system is a good example of that. This interview was about Chris' development as an artist. I compared his earlier work to his later work, discussing the difference. That should tell you what to expect and why.
