  1. I think that it doesn't matter that being able to blind a slime technically makes sense because of soul magic. The point is that it doesn't feel right. The flying creatures are exciting precisely because they are flying, if it doesn't effect the game then it's not exciting anymore. I mean sure, it might suck for some classes to not be able to use some abilities, but getting through situations like that is what makes combat fun. The drakes shouldn't be slipping on the floor not because it's unrealistic but because it strips them of their individuality.
  2. My main problem is the spell slicken. It's ridiculous that it allows you to get drakes and slimes prone. How does a dragon who is flying slip on an oil spill. Another is knock down, seriously how do you knock down a ghost who is levitating above the ground. Even their animation when they do that is silly. I know it would make some classes underpowered in certain encounters, but it would add to the atmosphere. RPGs are about fighting monsters, not walking stat blocks. If a creature is flying then players shouldn't have problems accepting that ground-based abilities won't work on him.
