    Conclusions 

     

    - lay on hands heals 20 base endurance per tick every 3 seconds for duration ... Last tick will heal less, proportionately with the difference between ability's duration MOD 3 (ability's duration doesn't usually perfectly divide by 3 ).

    - greater lay on hands works the same (separate HOT ticks) but with base 7  (approximately  *1.35 increase on healing amount )..

    - modifiers to healing amount (might/fulvano's amulet) are applied to the amount healed per tick (additivelymultiplciatively) 

    - int modifies duration (number of ticks) as shown in the info card . 

    - the amount of healing shown on info card ignores fulvano's amulet & Greater Lay on hands  ( lies when those are present) ..

    seriously ? ..  Wiki is open - not run by Obsidian - everything is on the wiki is to be taken with buckets of salt .. The game IS run by Obsidian and is still full of inconsitencies ..

     

    Aren't there other special attacks that bypass tohit checks ?   Retaliation attack is autohit .. There might be others ..

    You guys just cannot get over the fact that paladins are awesome :p

  6. And also wizards have arcane dampener themselves. The problem is that you need to beat will save with it, which is increased by said cheat buff spells. I think overall spells like this and non hard CC debuffs should have their accuracy buffed by at least 10 to make them more attractive (they are not useless but too situational atm).

     

    Best debuff combo I found to "breach" Thaos is Arkemyrs Dazzling Lights (-14 will vs reflex, which is much lower for him, can substitute with rotfinger gloves which are a bit cheesy) + miasma of dull mindedness (-40 will, graze is enough) + arcane dampener. Can throw a weaken effect into the mix as well.  But this takes moderate time to cast. He's completely helpless vs will attacks after you land the combo though.

    I've run a quick test vs tutorial wolves .. Wanted to check if zealous focus and sworn enemy would up the chance to deprive the unworty will check by 6 + 15 accuracy ..  (could maybe get more from racial wood elf // fighting spirit human ) But there was NO will check displayed in combat log ..  Think the talent might be AUTOHIT :) . Hovering over ability says it targets will .. Maybe is just bugged to autohit ..

     

    Info card doesn't mention anything about vs will either.. It says it suspends buffs no buts no maybes .. Uber paladins :)

    Just reached Raedric's keep - should be up in the next episode.. Sory about the sound volume in the first episode - should be better in the next ones ..

     

    And about the terrain - with a melee party you will need to draw enemies into open ground - so you can bring all your (melee)"guns" to bear  :) ..

  8. Will paladin's talent "deprive the unworhty" drop Thaos pants  (his cheat buff spells) ? BG2  Inquisitor kit dispel style .

    There is also this ring  Sigil of the arcane ( arcane dampener spell) that should have similar effects for non-paladin soloists  ..

  9. took me a while to figure another thing .. Using waypoints (shift) around engagement range to get flanks .. Is quite satifying when it works :) ..

     

    Also you don't need to waste tank DPS .. Pause when they're about to jump out of position , select and "X" .. When enemy in range or ifs afe to do so - order to move and attack (with waypoints if needed) ..

  10. In the ranger video you've made use of the "disorienting" mod on the weapon .. I've seen it stack up to -20 all resists in some tests .. I think in your video it goes to -15 all resists at some points . You can't keep it up all the time since you need to stop shooting to refresh buffs// deal with adds .. 

     

    The fact that there seems to be a limit to the stacking - indicates design more than accident to me but I'd love to have a dev answer on it . Could be working as designed.. Could be a bug ..

    Stalker's torc changes "stalker's link" description from "provides +10 accuracy when attacking the same enemy as the animal companion" to "provides +20% damage +10 accuracy when attacking the same enemy as the animal companion" .. Didn't bother testing it.. If it works as promised it only was relevant when dealing with the rushing xaurip champ.. Rest of the time your boar stood iddle .. A nice item if they allowed animal companions to attack from range (ex wurm )  ..

  11. Tests in this thread (weapon/ability/spell base damage RNG removal) - cheat engine (much faster searches, multiple search tabs accessible trough scripts, etc..).. For the breakpoint/combat log stuff I use memory hacking software (no longer maintained) http://memoryhacking.com/  . Cheat engine can probably offer similar functionality (maybe more) but so far I didn't put in the effort to find out exactly how .. 

     

    I'm less into theory crafting (very complex comparisons with many factors involved) and more into figuring out how the abilities/mechanics work individually.. Since so far I've been playing melee parties exclusively - naturally I've focused more on figuring them out first .. Knowing how the various spells is still relevant because they can kill your melee party :)  and because of extreme cross class power provided by scrolls ..

     

    There is also a balance between my curiosity and the time it takes to properly investigate a certain feature/spell ... I'm still interested in this game so hopefully this thread will continue to grow (however infrequently ) with test results in the future ..

    "Confident aim" graze to hit conversion applies to all toHit Checks  (I've seen it up on knockdown vs fortitude check - increasing the prone duration) .. 

    "Disorienting" weapon mod  -5 all resistance debuff stacks with itself .. Probably a bug .. Very potent when combined with high INT carnage barbs .. 

    "Flagellant's Path"  allows monks afflicted with "stuck" to reposition .. Bug ?

    "Flagellant's Path" doesn't seem to make use of on weapon +accuracy enchantments but will apply Turning Wheel, Lightning Strike & Chanter Lash components .. 

     

    Finishing blow , crippling strike, blinding strike, withering strike BREAK (shadowing beyond) invisibility BEFORE the first (melee) weapon swing ... Currently you need to break invisibility with regular attack (to get backstab) and then apply finishing blow (without backstab) .. (different timings, longer execution duration, smaller payoff) ..Sneak + Deathblows will give bigger payoff without the need for /per rest shadowing beyond since they don't put a restriction on the debilitation on strike abilities (blinding/cripple/etc ..)

    That forest lurker had 51 deflection and 51 will defenses before the white spire started to "work" on him .. Fortitude and reflex were lowered too but I would need to do a "hit check" vs them for the info screen to display the actual values .. "Problem" is compounded on high INT Barbs (carnage AOE) ...

     

    So there is no confusion about the screen shot - it will lower defenses by 5 per weapon swing & not miss not by 20.. 

     

    This makes "The White Spire" (available to buy at beginning of act 2) probably more than ten times better the weapon "Blade of Endless Paths" is .. And getting that takes some effort ..

  14. It seems to me shadowing beyond invisibility only grants the backstab (+1 to sum of additive damage mods)  bonus when using regular attacks to break invisibility ..  (even then it doesn't always work )

     

    I never got it to work when breaking invisibility with finishing blow/blinding strike/crippling strike/withering strike (full attack on strike effects) ..  

     

    Seems to me it should work with those those (for the first swing)  too ..  ( shadowing beyond + backstab + finishing blow seems like a great combo, in theory, for taking down boss units per rest cycle and only justification to bother with the backstab talent, only it just doesn't work .

     

    Working as designed or BUG ?

     

    You can get backstab, sneak, deathblows and finishing blow for swings out of combat vs own characters but never get it to work in combat vs enemies :(..
