  1. Has there been any progress on this issue? Have patches helped anyone get rid of the crashes?
  2. I doubt there will be a catch-all hotfix in the next few days. After all, the crashes are just a symptom of probelms with a wide variety of causes. Some of the crashes were related to the UNCL font, others to the Mono compiler, others were OS-dependant and some may be hardware-dependant.
  3. Don't you have the output_log.txt file in the PillarsOfEternity_Data folder, located in the Pillars of Eternity install directory? I don't have the error.log, but I think that's because I never managed to get past character creation.
  4. Did you check out this topic? There are some suggestions that may help. As for the output_log.txt and error.log files, you can attach them to a post by using More Reply Options by the Post button. If the file upload doesn't work you can attach the contents to your post, preferably between (left-braket)spoiler(right-braket) and (left-braket)/spoiler(right-braket) tags, to reduce the need for scrolling.
  5. I noticed that my output log also had a reference to the Mono compiler. Does anyone know where the vcredist install path is for the GOG.com version of the game so I can do a manual install like K3V did? Edit: here is the relevant Mono message in the output log:
  6. I don't have any error folders, even though it's crashed five times. I never got past the character creation screen, so that may be the reason. My PC specs are: Windows 7 64-bit edition AMD Phenom II X6 1090T @3.20 GHz 8 GB RAM AMD Radeon HD 6750 edit: Uploading output_log.txt didn't work, even in a zip, so its contents are under the spoiler tag.
  7. I searched my entire hard drive for error.log and was unable to find it. Is it located in a hidden directory?
  8. I tried the UNCL.TTF fix, but it wasn't in my fonts directory. I lowered the resolution and this delayed the crash by a minute, but I still was not able to finish the character creation. One thing I noticed was that one of my cores was always running at 90-100% during character creation. Also, where is the error.log file located? I looked in the PillarsOfEternity_Data, my user directory and AppData, but couldn't find it.
