Thank you, I was wondering when somebody was going to mention that.  While the philisophical discussion is fascinating, let us not forget that George Lucas created "The Force" much like L. Ron Hubbard created "Scientology" (may his eyes be eaten by small rodents..Hubbards not Lucas.) As I recall George was reading a great deal of Joseph Campbell and Jung at the time he wrote Star Wars.

Umm, no. ;-) It looks like Campbell and Lucas created their little lovefest *after* the original Star Wars movie became a cultural phenomenon. George provided the popularity and Joseph provided the academic 'blessings'.

After reading several articles on the origins of Star Wars I have found that Lucas had read this book in college then picked it up again while he was writing the movies.

Actually Sushi means "rice seasoned with sweet vinegar and raw fish"

 

The Japanese have about 6 words for rice that I know of

 

O-kome "uncooked rice"

go-han "cooked rice"

ra-isu "rice on a plate foreigner style"

 

and some others that refer to it being hulled or not.

 

The only reason I know this is because I live here and am often laughed at for using the wrong words for things.

I was thinking I would like to see the KOTOR series continue until it catches up with the movies timeline. I think it would be neat to see how the actions of Revan or the Exile tie into the Skywalker saga.

The Force is based on what George Lucas believes about good and evil, not Christianity, even though his view may have been based on his own vague understanding of the pseudo-christian values he grew up with.

Having said that, it seems to me that The Force is some kind of collective consciousness that is neither inherently good or bad. You as an individual can attempt to choose a side but with the understanding that one cannot exist without the other and any victory (Light over Dark) is only a temporary shift. And I think as an individual it would be impossible to see the whole picture and know for sure which side you were actually playing for. For example when Kriea points out that giving that Refugee credits actually set him up for a good pounding. I think the best we can do is simply....the best we can. For as a wise old woman once said

Call me crazy but I liked the Protocol Droid in Vogga's warehouse.

 

 

It sounded A LOT like Tim Curry (with some synthesizer of course) . He has such a distinctive voice that it just jumps out at me whenever I hear it. And being a Frank-n-Furter groupie from way back makes me extra sensitive I guess.
