  1. No i didnt try quicksaving and reloading, but its a constant issue with my save games, i'm tempted to stop playing altogether until a patch is released. I am using the omegadrivers based on the 5.1 cats, i expect there will be new versions of these drivers out soon, but i am definetly more concerned with the gameplay issues. I dont really have to many graphical problems apart from those listed occasionally.
  2. Ok I played the first game on both catalysts and on omega drivers and i experienced 0 problems on my 9700. The 9600's had known issues, but then they were quite new at the time of kotor 1 release. I expect any issues to be cleared up in the next release of the omega drivers or the next catalyst release. I have a few issues this time around but mainly to do with characters wanting to enter floors and objects which tends to be a "game" issue in my experience. I have very few issues with the omegadrivers (www.omegadrivers.net), these drivers do not require the highly irritating catalyst control centre or .NEt Framework. and give you far more options that the general cats. Finally a word to all the fanboys: In the end its all about quality of graphics cards, nvidia do some good ones (except for the laughable fx series) and ati also do some good ones. Everyone seems to have the ati vs nvidia war rubbish. My answer: Get over it, if you think you get better picture quality on an ATi card get one, if you get it on nvidia get one. If ati released the daddy of all cards tomorrow like an X27000000 XT PE and nvidia released something similar to a slightly improved 6800GT (of which running 2 in SLI would still get 1/8th the score of the ATi card - just an example dont get all fanboyish on me). There would be some complete idiots who would buy the nvidia card purely out of brand loyalty. My answer: are you nuts?? the other card is 700% better than the other two in SLI....why on earth would you choose the nvidia card? Its like this AMD/Intel supposed war as well, what sort of muppet doesnt realise for games its AMD 64, for multi tasking its P4+Hyperthreading? Just use your brains people. Dont go by brand, go by performance. There is a reason people buy corsair memory, but as soon as they slip up on a product for me..i wont be buying from them..understand?
  3. Ok i'll start with my system specs and then go on to relate the various problems i am having. PC: AMD 64 4000+ PCI-Express X800 XT ViVo SATA HDD's Hercules Digifire 7.1 Soundcard. Logitech MX510 Mouse. Memorex Keyboard OS + Runtimes Winxp sp2 mcafee firewall 8.0 mcafee antivirus 9.0 JRE - 1.4.2.something. I run the game at 1280x1024, with all graphics settings Antialiasing/Aniso maxed out. note: the same graphical glitches that happen occur even without these turned on. Right thats the basics over with. The actual bugs are: Graphical: 1) My characters occasionally slip into the floor etc, this might be some sort of clipping issue i dont know. 2) Upon startup my screen flickers with some angry red lines. 3) When exiting the game, my graphical settings are not restored it remains at kotor2 level brightness, not usual desktop brightness. 4) Characters getting stuck in objects. Gameplay: 1) The droid gets stuck and wont move often despite movement in combat being ticked. 2) After combat has ended the droid still doesnt want to move. 3) Probably the issue the others stem from, it takes forever for characters to move (any of them) after they come out of combat..almost like i have to wait for the music to end. 4) The position the droid often gets stuck at is on the 2nd part of peragus, after you have played your human char for the first time, he goes down a ramp to fight 2 droids and then just gets stuck. 5) My brother also plays this game and he is getting errors when he does the races. Despite getting awesome times - it keeps telling him he's had a bad crash?. Ok now this is probably the bit you dont want to read, but the previous game gained most of its success on the pc, i highly suggest next time focusing more time on the pc version and then porting it to x-box. PC Gamers, myself included (as i cant get out of peragus due to the droid bug) are expecting quality and a good experience. Now i know its not as easy as sticking your finger up at lucasarts, but that is what you need to do if your going to retain some quality - hell i'd have waited another 3 months for the game on pc just to have planet of the droids and all these other supposed things which evidently have been cut. Next time tell lucasarts "hell no". Its a starwars game, its going to sell like hotcakes anyway.
