  1. As an explanation for the shark, I'd bet that the situation was that something else was supposed to be there, but for testing purposes, they use that model.  When their time grow short and they need to "cut" the factory, they were still using it.

And since they didn't actually remove the factory from the game, you can still get to it.

    What does that crystal do?

First, the fish isn't in the droid factory, it is on the droid planet. Second, the Hurrikaine crystal can now be found as a normal item on a corpse if your level is high enough. It does damage +1-8 unstoppable.

  2. post a pic of the hidden areas of trayus academy

The hidden areas of Trayus Academy are just more hallways that look just like the others found in that area. In the Trayus Proving Grounds area, there is a hidden row of cells just like the other that you find in that section, along with a meditation chamber. The Trayus Crescent, which is actually called the Trayus Prison, contains much more. This is the area in which you originally found at least 3 members of your crew being held in cages. You also found a large mine field, along with a dead jedi corpse that contains a Hurrikaine crystal.

The screenshots below show the map entry naming the "Trayus Prison", along with pictures of two improtant areas that were cut from the Trayus Prison area. i didn't include any pictures of the Trayus Proving Grounds becasue that area only has a few hallways cut out and isn't very interesting.

  3. I was recently using the whereami arm band to unlock doors that otherwise couldn't be opened. I did all the usual things like going to the hidden places in the Trayus Academy, then got the idea to warp to the droid planet and use it there. With the arm band, I was able to open several force fields and invisible walls until I got to a large fish that looked very similar to the giant fish from Manaan in KotOR 1. I was wondering if anyone had seen this before or if anyone has any idea as to why this fish was placed on this planet (possible cut plot elements)?

  5. Well, I went through the Trayus Cresent using the armband to unlock all of the doors, and I must say it is very interesting. There are several cutscene triggers showing jedi corpses that are said to contain powerful crystals, along with a room with containment cells in it, most likely where some of your party members would be found. i suggest you go through that area with the armband if you have some spare time!

  6. There's quite a bit of stuff cut from Malachor V, but most of it is cutscenes/dialogue, rather than new areas (although there are a few locked away areas too apparently).

If it's the stuff about Party-members fighting each other and all the rest of that "well-known" stuff then yes, I know about those, but nothing on cut areas of Malachor, unless those areas were involved with the cut dialog.

You can actually see some of the cut areas of the Trayus academy in the game. Just head over to the Trayus Proving Grounds and walk as close as possible to the walls. After doing that, look at your map. You will see several bullet point markers in the black void outside of the map. One is a meditation chamber, another is a cell block. Using the reveal map cheat will show you even more of these bullet points. Another interesting thing to note is that if you check your map while in the main area of the Trayus Academy, you will notice that the doors to the Trayus Cresent are called "Entrance to Trayus Prison". This makes me think that the Trayus Cresent was originally the area where you found your party members, while the other path through the Trayus Proving Grounds would take you straight to Kreia. I base this on a cut peice of dialogue (which is still partially in the game) in which Kreia says to Lord Sion "When the exile enters Trayus academy he/she will be faced with a choice. One path will lead straight here to the Trayus Core, the other will lead him/her to his/her friends, though he/she will become weaker for it."

  7. I was about to ask this in your other thread, but this one looks more appropriate.

Ok, its on your main character, the exile.  Does it occur regardless of which portrait you use?  Male/Female?

Or is just one or two specific character portraits that this happens with.

This thread is an excellent idea, though to see how many people have seen such a graphic glitch.  I haven't seen anything like what you describe in the game, and I suspect most of the people that responded in your other thread have either.

I did have one other thought, does your card have a fan on it or just a heatsink?  I've seen the FX5200 cards come in both configurations which seems strange to me.

Well I have a Radeon 9800 XT with a fan, not just a heatsink, along with the latest catalyst drivers, and still I get the face spiking. It isn't that annoying, just a bit distracting at first.

  8. I am starting a new post on this subject in order to see how many people have had this issue.

The main character model in my game is plagued by a graphics spike that keeps protruding from his face.

Reloading the game fixes it temporarily, but it will always return.

It is *not* happening to any other character or piece of graphics.

Due to these factors, I cannot see how it would be a problem due to my graphics card or the drivers.

"Updating drivers" is a well-worn mantra that rarely fixes graphical issues, it just improves performance.

I am wanting to know how many other people have encountered this bug, and I am crossing my fingers that it is a game-issue... perhaps even one that is resolved by a patch!  <_<

This glitch happens to me in both the first and second games, it is annoying at first, but you get used to it.

  9. When I saw her in her underwear it was great, but when I saw her walking around and fighting in that gold bikini !! whoa moma !!

Visas is great too, but my vote really goes to the handmaiden, there was something about her character, I did develop her more too.

I should give you guys the wallpaper that I created for myself and my friend (who is completely in love with Handmaiden). I personally like Visas Marr, but I haven't had a chance to make a wallpaper for her yet....

  10. Okay, Im not sure if I missed something while I was playing KotOR II but what exactly did Bao-Dur do to Malachor? He said something about "Fixing what he caused" or somthing like that on the hollogram that Remote played... Or are you supose to figure that out on your own.. ?

He is the one who built the Mass Shadow Generator which killed thousands of people during the final battle at Malachor. He feels responsible for what happened and wants to do as much as possible to help you fight the sith. During the light ending video you see that the Remote used the Mass Shadow Generator and destoryed Malachor.

  11. contract eh.. does anyone know the terms of that contract? it may involve OE promising not to release without LA's approval any application that can be used to edit or modify any content within LA published games that OE has/have developed for an indefinite amount of time.

WAY OFF TOPIC: news: a man just sued a famous burger franchise for serving him a burger that is too hot and he end up suffering from minor burns in his lips and tongue :p . the case is being advocated by a consumer rights group(both names of group and plaintiff are withheld from this post)

that would be a funny way to get the content back, file a case of nagative psychological effects due to the content (or lack there of).

that is if anyone is desperate enough :p

Well, it is widely known that LA doesn't support modding of their games, so I'm sure OE won't be able to release an editing kit until the contract that they have expires. Lets us just hope that it will expire....

As to your way off topic point: That would be the funniest lawsuit ever. Have everyone on this forum file a class action suit against LA for causing permenant phychological damage to us by making OE cut out the end of the game.

  12. I realize that OE doesn't have the time or money to be restoring the cut content for us and that they have other things to worry about. I also think that a good solution would be for them to simply release an official set of editing tools for the game.

Yes they do. Time and money shouldn't even be an issue since the content is basically 90% done.

Perhaps, but that is the defence that OE will use whenever we ask for a real ending patch for the game, as they did in the email that was posted earlier in this thread.

  13. Well, time to stop lurking and actually post. I have been following this thread since it first started, and I finally felt the need to say something.

I realize that OE doesn't have the time or money to be restoring the cut content for us and that they have other things to worry about. I also think that a good solution would be for them to simply release an official set of editing tools for the game. That would help them win back the respect of the many people on this thread and other similar ones that now have an extreme dislike for Obsidian, as well as giving modders the opportunity to restore the full ending as well as the droid factory missions.

Since we already know what was supposed to happen in the cut content and we already have most of the files required, some of the better modders out there would have no problem restoring the content using an official set of edidting tools.

Hopefuly once any contractual obligiations that OE has to LA expire, they will be able to release an editing kit, and we will be able to have the real endings!
