  1. IIRC you do need to reinstall drivers because when you install drivers it only installs what is needed for that particular card. so if you installed the x850xtpe without reinstalling drivers your pc might still be geared towards a 9800 pro. I'm not sure if any of that was right though.

I did reinstall the drivers after installing the X850 XT PE, I was simply pointing out that the drivers that I reinstalled are the same drivers that I was using for the 9800XT, the catalyst 5.7 drivers. As for the other post, I checked and there is no constant hard drive activity, and the re-scanning of my hardware did not resolve the issue. I did notice one interesting thing in the hardware scan. It seems to think that the X850 XT PE meets the minimum requirements, but not the recomended requirements. Thanks for the suggestions though, I will keep looking for ways to fix this issue.

Update: I reverted back to the catalyst 5.6 drivers and now the quicksave is working fine. Unfortunatly I now have an even bigger problem, the game is flickering to the point that I can't even tell what is happening. I just can't win with this game... fixing one problem causes another.

Update 2: I was able to fix the flicker by reducing my AA from 6x to 4x. I would rather have it set to 6x, but I can live without it. If anyone knows how I could fix my 6x AA flicker problem, please tell me.

  2. I recently upgraded my Radeon 9800 XT to a X850 XT PE and have begun having a strange problem with the game. While still using the 9800 XT I was able to use the quicksave feature with no problems, now with the X850 XT PE, the game hangs for almost 20 seconds before the quicksave screen appears and saves my game. This is the only time in which this hang occurs, and it occurs in both kotor I and II. I am still using the exact same drivers and settings for the X850 XT PE as I was for the 9800 XT, and no other games have had any similar problems. I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and if they know how to fix it, since it is very annoying having to wait 20-30 seconds to "quick" save.

  3. i  was wondering if any of u could allow me to use their account on xbox live to download the xbox live content pleasse

if u want to helpo me just send me and email  please!!

That isn't possible. Your xbox live account is stored as a file on your xbox hard drive, it isn't just a user name and password.

    what do u mean??

and can i download the extra context with out using xbox live?????

and for kotor1 if i download that stuff will i be able to use the level up glitch or do they fix them please answer :shifty:

What I mean is my xbox live account is an actual file, a piece of data that is stored on my xbox, I can't just give you a username and password that will let you go on to my account.

  4. To tell you the truth, I had a bitch of a time turning characters as a Dark Side Exile.  I tried to be a dark side meanie to all my characters, but I never lost enough influence to turn them.  They all went darkside themselves, but they wouldn't turn.  I've read in the forum somewhere that if you keep being a **** eventually you will bottom out the influence meter and they will turn, it just didn't work for me.

I managed to get the lightest of em all into a Dark Jedi, the handmaiden became a Dark Jedi. :shifty:

It is even easier to do if you are a Sith Lord, because then you get the great power known as Dark Side Corruption. It helps everyone come around to your way of thinking very fast

  5. I realized this a while ago but i was to lazy to post it

In the first game KotOR I, before Revan was kicked out of the Jedi Order, He went into the ruins on Dantoine, He was dressed in the dark robes and the helmet. Malak said to him something about getting kicked out because the went into the ruins. Wasn't it obvious Revan was falling to the dark side? I mean he was completly covered by black robes and wearing that helmet. I've never seen a good Jedi dressed like that

He probably acted like Darth Sidious in Episode II. He would dress normally when around other people, but would then put on his evil clothing when he was away from others or doing things he shouldn't be doing, like looking at the star map.

  6. Yes and no.  With Nihlius, I Force spammed but I had 2 others fighting so it really did not matter.  With Sion, I beat him with almost 100% Force spamming (and this is without Force Storm--did not take it for role playing reasons).

The last boss--no way Jose.  Had to break out the old lightsaber.

For those of you who replay this game and have not yet tried going Consular/Master, I would recommend it.  When you play this kind of character, the Jedi Masters teach you Force Forms instead of Lightsaber forms.  I have found Force Affinity to be particularly useful as it lets you regen Force points during combat....I barely had to use a lightsaber at all once I started using that form.

I was able to easily beat the last boss as a Consular/Master, however I also had every single offensive dark side power, so I just spammed kill, then when she got near me I knocked her back with force wave.

  7. During in game videos my hard drive access light comes on and the video slows down and skips. Happens every time a video plays. Starts off fine then after a while it will skip and then be fine again.

    My PC Setup is:

    MSI 865PE Neo2 Motherboard

    Pentium 4 3.0Ghz

    1Gb P3200 OCZ Ram

    Ati Radeon 9800 Pro 256Mb

    Maxtor 250Gb SATA Hard drive

    Maxtor 200Gb SATA Hard drive

    Pioneer DVD Drive

    LG DVD Writter

    Antec TrueBlue 480W PSU

    Creatve Labs SB Live 5.1

    Anybody got any ideas. Thanks

Have you defragmented your hard drive lately? If you haven't, go to Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defragmenter. Use that program to fix up your hard drives. That should at least help you.

  8. Yeah you released patch, but it fixed bugs I never had.

The problem is the game got big storyline bugs

    1. YOU CANT MAKE A JEDI OUT OF MIRA (i'll show you how to be a jedi - just dont act like tourist bla bla bla and then its goodbye - goodbye) and thats why

    2. YOU CANT HAVE ONE OF THE ENDINGS (according to dialog.tlk there is another ending where you make 4 jedi's out of your team, they come to old witch on malachor and she calls them children w/ lightsabers...)

    3. BUGS IN HANDMAIDENS INFLUENCE

    a) Why I can talk about Atris just after HM arrive on my ship and cant talk later if I didnt talk before?!

    b) I literally walked on knees before HM  :D  but in the end there's no LOVE ending with her but I know it exists there!!!

    Fix that,

    Best regardz,

    Sunchaser

    1. You can make a jedi out of Mira, you just have to take her to a certain spot on Nar Shaddaa after you have had the conversation with her about showing her the force.

    2. See number 1, 4 jedi= Mira, Atton, Visas, Handmaiden

    3. If you ignore Handmaiden and speak with Visas too much than the Handmaiden will get angry and refuse to talk to you for the rest of the game. You have to be nice to both of your women....

  9. Force crush is the best. I usually add it to my force power list with KSE early in the game. Doesn't matter if I'm playing darkside or light, it's a must have :D I think it needs more of a crunching sound when you use it though.

It makes the wrong sound in the finished game. If you go to www.pcgamemods.com under the KotOR II section you will be able to find a fixed version of the force crush sound. It is well worth the download, the sound is much better than the one that force crush normally makes, which for some reason is the same sound as throw lightsaber....

  10. i cann't seem to get her to trust me in the first conversation on telos. i tried following the conversation guide i found on gamefaq but it doesn't help.

Yup, she seems to have nothing but contempt for you no matter what you say, so you should just take the opportunity to call her a schutta, she will hate you even if you don't say it....

  11. More fun with the droid planet:

I was searching the planet today and found an area that had not been discovered before. After fighting my way through an enormous anmount of droids, I found yet another giant fish. There seems to be even more stuff hidden down here, so i will keep searching and will post any new stuff that I find.

Edit: Found another fish! This makes 3 giant fish floating in data matricies. All three are in locations maked as "Behavior Core". Two of them have damaged cables leading to them, indicating sabatoge. If you listen to the deleted diagolue files, a droid speaks of someone sabatoging the behavior core.

  12. As an explanation for the shark, I'd bet that the situation was that something else was supposed to be there, but for testing purposes, they use that model.  When their time grow short and they need to "cut" the factory, they were still using it.

And since they didn't actually remove the factory from the game, you can still get to it.

    What does that crystal do?

First, the fish isn't in the droid factory, it is on the droid planet. Second, the Hurrikaine crystal can now be found as a normal item on a corpse if your level is high enough. It does damage +1-8 unstoppable.

So how do you get to the Droid Planet? Take a left at the Telos bunker and keep going until morning? :p"

Oh, and it looks nothing like a Firaxis Shark, big or little. It looks like a Dodo sitting on a big egg. (Or maybe it's got hemorrhoids ...) :)

To get to the droid planet you need to download the modules for it and place them in your modules folder in the kotor II directory. You can then get to the planet using the cheat "warp 801dro". As for the armband, just place the files into your override directory, then use the cheat "giveitem d3_location" to get the armband in the game. Just put on the armband, walk up to a door that you want to open, and use it. The door will fly open. Use this near the unseledtable doors in Trayus Academy to get to the hidden locations. *Note: I didn't make this armband, I am just posting it so that others can use it.

  13. How exactly did you get there...? On the Droid Planet (M4-78) I'm just stuck sitting there on the landing pad... Do you need to warp and if so what are the coordinates?

You first need to place the droid planet modules into the modules folder in your KotOR II directory. You can then use the warp cheat to go to module 801dro. That will place you on the landing pad, from there you can go to the rest of the planet through the open door.

  14. I've just played the remnants of the level, and it seems to be exactly as the sound files depict it to be. The files relate to a planet that has been overcome with industrialization, and covered by droids. 3 distinct characters are named, (listen to the files yourself) and the quest as it may of been was to "restart the planet"... Numerous files discuss restarting the planet's core reactor and another .wav file confirms it... (StreamVoice/GBL/Testlip/gbltestlb002.wav) Hear for yourself...!

Perhaps the central behavior core droid is what that giant fish that I found is supposed to be. I guess the planet was cut before they made the new model for it, so it was just left as a big fish floating in a giant data matrix.
