  1. (w00t) Wow! Actual cut scenes (bad pun intended). If only they were added back into the game. Shame. This thread has a lot of good work in it.
  2. Wait a minute. We aren't extremist. Just discussing content. It's clear it won't be restored in any case, with the exception of modding. And I prefer frisbees to clay pigeons.
  3. Nope scientist. It's cut content. You were originally meant to fight them yourself too,
  4. Obsidian are undeniably good, but they are also easy pickings for giants like LucasArts, simply used for getting a quick game out to make a few million. Sad. Hope they have better luck in the future.
  5. I'm sure we can arrange for some dancers. Funny you should mention that actually, I just played KOTOR's light side ending again, holding down L/R Triggers and Y on controllers in port 1 and 2. Very unique way of sorting out a dispute. Kudos to you Revan. Also, some dialogue: Number 1 {Mocking}So, let us wait here, you and I, for the "General's" orders, and calculate the probable fate of the galaxy.Unfortunately for you, I have arranged for friends to meet me here. Number 2 {A little sarcastic, Mira just lost her temper with the player, and he's commenting on it}I heard you making friends with the bounty hunter. I don't blame you. She's a scrapper. You don't survive on Nar Shaddaa for very long if you aren't.I've known people like her. Maybe without the rocket launchers, but sort of the same. Maybe without the plunging neckline and the boots.I wouldn't let anything she says bother you - it's a wonder you cracked her attitude at all. She's cold as the ship's hull. 6. There was a 125 page thread somewhere towards the end of the forum. And if that was the reason, why lack on the explanation part? That would be a bad move as it would only raise suspicion and bad feeling.
  7. The .bik files in LucasArts\Movies folder Also the movies you can view at the start. I believe all cut content (which we want) has been erased though.

  9. Poor Eji If I see your sound files being used without credit, I'll tell them you made them. Yes, I too believe it was LA's fault, as they took advantage of an inexperienced developer, even in the email, I get hints of this: where they say they will learn from it. I'll turn my attention to finding more cut soundfiles, so Eji has more material to work with.
  10. The bloded sticky topic at the top of the forum FOUND HERE Maybe we should give the guy a break, he's only trying to do his job. And why hire? I'm sure many members here would give an arm and a leg to run the forum. Just pick a good, headstong, loyal (to OE and LA) member. Someone who looks a bit like this: and when they see a dev do this:
  11. Yes, I did send him a response expressing gratitude. Urm, I have that here somewhere. I felt a bit bad in a way, since he seemed to be having a hard time already, and he's got a busy homelif (congratulation are in order, I believe), besides, it wasn't Obsidian's fault when it comes down to it. In fact, with the short time, they did a great job on it, and had they had 3 years, they would have put Bioware themselves to shame.
  12. I couldn't agree more. However, my intention is not to bother the companies. I want to continue the previous discussion. It was innovative and involving. And it was informative, besides: there are people here who still need to see this. I was just transferring what I could so the discussion could begin, and besides, we all probably want to know how the mod is going.
  13. Stop with the "I think"s and, "we can theorize"s for a minute and look at fact. Exile makes strong bonds with oter force users/force sensitives Exile Feels pain when Kreia's hand is severed Exile and Kreia can communicate over long distance (AND BEN WAS DEAD IN THE ATTACK) Exile and Kreia can share force powers. Simple; they have a bond. Did his hand stop working? No. Will he die? No. They have bond, but it isn't lethal. And the dead Jedi Master on Korriban (who was supposed to be on the droid planet) was supposed to explain about force bonds in detail. You can see this in the sound files. Also, notice how only Kreia can't be influenced to change heralignment without glitch? You are a natural leader, Kreia is a manipulator. Manipulate a natural leader and you gain his abilities for your purpose. However, if he started leading her she would lose her purpose (awould the game), so she choses her paths and words carefully. All the way through, I thought Kreia was a dead person (she pulsed strongest in force sight, showing extra energy), and I knew she was the betrayer who could not be revealed as all would be lost. I knew she was manipulating the character. BUT I used her throughout the game as much as I could. Why? She's so interesting and she's the best developmental character. Evil or no.
  14. So the old topic got closed, but we're up for round two of discussing, debating and outright arguing, as well as the odd moan or five. Right? I'm just trying to keep such a lively discussion going; after all, the last was my homepage Sadly, in the last topic, someone poisoned the Gizka, so (seeing as it''s mating season), you guys get a free Kath hound! Anyway, the more serious stuff. Thanks to Darth333 for linking to these tools: Kotor tool or tk102's dlgeditor. Just don't be rude to them or bother them too much. Thanks to Aurora for the original thread. Keep discussing, playing and working hard. May the force be with you.
  15. So basically, if you or I have the same amount of creative input on TSL as LucasArts, you're saying we all made voiceovers, music and have a profitable contract with Obsidian Entertainment? Either that or sound files don't count when making a game, in which the original point of blaming a company for the butchered files in irrelevant, in which case you needn't post anymore. Also, I think you'll find it was LA who messed it up, to the utter shame of their parent company. Just for the record; the streamvoice file is over 572 MB, streamsounds 130 MB and streammusic 36.3 MB. How sad.
  16. As far as we can see, OE have realised what's happened. They know the ending was disatisfactory and they know we would prefer it changed. They would like to change it. It is really LA's fault for the deadline. They had other options. As much as I would have preferred a HK Factory, A droid planet, A good ending, I think we've gone far enough slagging OE. They did all they could. I feel sorry for them. They can do no more than apologise, and learn from their mistakes, both of which they have done. Basically, bothering OE is NOT going to get us anywhere, besides which, I still have high hopes for them. I hope they make KOTOR3. They have proved up to the task and are very quick to respond to public need (I mean, 28 minutes for a response which was hand typed is top notch). They made a game of good length, and worthy of Bioware's work, in a third of the time. And our only disappointment was the ending. Now with 3 years, what could they do. Seriously, with the way they're going, we could be seeing the birth of a new Squaresoft (and as much as I love FF, the latest RPGs are losing their touch, and KOTOR 1/ 2 were both better than FFX-2). What we need to turn our attention to now is modding the old endings back in. Rather than complaining, doing something about it.
  17. Well, I personally am impressed by Obsidian. I sent an email 29 minutes ago and have a personal response. Good work guys My email: The response:
  18. Carefully chosen words by Brian, but I'm going to address each point individually, and I feel OE are indeed resticted. He's being defensive here. I can gather OE has collaberated on this issue. This tells us instantly that we ARE getting somewhere. Notice how he put "bashing" in inverted commas. To me, this is saying that it's causing a stir AND he doesn't QUITE see it as bashing. At least for now... it's obvious there that they have something planned. Self publishing? "other factors" they have to answer to are OBVIOUSLY Lucas Arts. So this tells me they are resticted by contact. And I think I speak for us all, when I say that we never expected perfection; we just didn't expect the so blatantly rushed ending. So he's trying to undermine our arguments by saying we don't understand how it works. I think he's trying to shift the blame from them (or therefore LA) onto us and our "misunderstanding" of how it works. While trying to stop the bad publicity for NWN2, it's interesting he mentions the publisher. While he doesn't say anything bad about LA, he makes a point to say the publisher is different. Leads me to believe he is hinting at LA and (see below) their schedule is to blame. Moreover, it tells us that OE know damn well our thread is here, as they are taking on board our individual arguments. Suggestion: List all our problems and reasonable solutions because we obviously have their attention. If I was reading his message like TSL plays, this is where it would end, that way it can be "more open ended." Yay. <_< The short schedule IS to blame. The ending was cut short because of this. The above quote practically does all but says it was the fault of LA's short schedule. It could also be taken that they want to give us the full ending, but are unable to at this point. Not once is constructive critism mentioned here, but that's because he knows that we know what we're on about, and he doesn't like it. In fact he's asking for positive feedback or positive suggestions for the future. This is kinda sad as it never happened with TSL. After all, when does the ended take low prioritory? In KOTOR2 it was a "cut whatever happens later on" jobbie, because that's what needed most work. Sadly, it's going to cost them, as I know many of us will wait before buying KOTOR3. Seems to me like they're straining the contract with LA here. "May or May not". Of course they had NO direct control over it, if they did have direct control what would be the point of saying that? It would also conflict with what he said earlier about time constraints. He also tells us that OE don't like the bad publicity from our findings. Looks like we obtained some notice from a higher ranking member of OE anyway Keep up the good work guys.
  19. I would buy a "directors cut edition". No, it nothing about profits at all for LA... "
  20. Heh, I just found a nice convo between Mira and Atton (I think it's cut, I never heard it) File 003/Disk 4 Fun, here's on of the quotes: Mira: Oh well, it's not really a competition, I mean, you're kinda an idiot Atton, you don't shower enough and you scratch yourrrr "equipment" when you think no one's looking. Seems like they're on about Disciple, an I've yet to play my female games so it might be in :/ Still amusing though. I can't believe how much of this stuff is cut. *plays HK-50 screams again*
  21. This patch had better be good Anyway, rooting through the files and looked in 904/904KREIA and it's the characters vs. Kreia. It's a bit unfinished, but amusing, check out 904904KREIA011.wav, after all the characters say they will fight kreia for the exile, Atton says "And I walk in and say something suitable heroic" After the NPCs (Why are they called NPCs, because you can play as them?) fight Kreia, the ending where the future is seen files appear, so they are both supposed to play after the Traya fight. As such, I speculate that after you beat the Lightsabers and Traya, she uses force crush or something on the exile, and just as he/she is losing the NPCs walk in and distract Traya. After she cripples them I dunno. The exile gets up, forms a party of 3 and fights the final battle against a very strong Traya with the Star Wars theme playing in the background. Just lightsabers and force? That would be Star Wars-like. And the ending so much better! Damn, I don't see why they don't use that theme for a final battle, it would rock.
  22. I've been reading this topic for the past few hours with explicit interest. Firstly, I brought the PC game, but the game won't work on my laptop because the laptop's RAM sucks, but that doesn't stop me loading the sound files, so my
