    LED lights could be quite stylish, too. Check out here how many wonderful interior suggestions with LED lights there are - http://www.interior-deluxe.com/led-lights-c272.html . You can practicly use some ideas for your own project.

    kgambit has good suggestion, "task lamps" suits my definition quite well. As for the LED lights - true, harder to replace, but they are quite durable and long lasting. Should not be something that troubles you very much, in my opinion.
