Pillars of Eternity II Quit Unexpectantly

Hello all,
Im quite new to Steam, PoEII being my first proper game bought through the platform. Therefore, Im not too tech savvy with its ins and outs. 

Every time I hit New Game and follow the game settings (Story or Classic modes, etc), it crashes with the title pop up. How may I play this game? 

Im on macOS High Sierra, 10.13.
