Should be Ogre fist count as unarmed weapon or not?

Hello,

 

I would like to ask you whether it's intended or bug that ogre fist (from Form of the Fearsome Brute) is not count as unarmed weapon? I wanted to play monk/wizard as Ogre with high attack speed, but it looks like monk's passive buffs to unarmed weapon doesn't work for Ogre fist. It would be probably too strong, but now it's quite confusing..
