I bought PoE on GOG about mid-November. Yesterday on what I think is a lead-in quest to White March I encountered a large number of pink squares (mask bug?). Based on numerous forum postings I decided to d/l and reinstall whatever the most current version of PoE and DLC is from GOG. On GOG I discovered the current version with this text: "3.07 (dlc hotfix)" which I downloaded an installed, along with White March I & II, Deadfire Pack, and Pre-Order Bonus Item and Pet. Upon installation of PoE I was given a message along the lines of "Installing will remove existing version", but what else could I do? I installed.
Very soon after installing I discovered that I can no longer load my old game saves. I have these games backed up on an external archive from a couple days before this issue began, so I'm confident the game save files are not corrupted or anything. I have copied them back over to the indicated directory for OS X with no luck. PoE simply will not recognize these files.
I have checked the forums for this issue here and elsewhere, nothing anyone has posted has worked.
To summarize: the problem is I installed a current version of PoE from GOG and now I cannot load my old game saves, which I would like to load so I can continue from where I left off.
I've attached an infographic to this post which shows the version of OS X I'm using and some basic environment info, a screenshot of the "Continue" and "Load" buttons which should be enabled but are not, and the version of PoE I'm currently running.
