So I just beat Pillars of Eternity; and loved it. So I went and purchased and installed both White March expansions (I and II).

 

I restored back to just before I jumped down the pit to face Thaos; ran over to my castle, got the letter, got the message. Went to White March - did the little intro. However, right after that?

 

This is what I see...

Turned out POE Vanilla was missing some patches... so I patched it all up - and now it works. :)
